Went for a drive up to Acadia National Park. I was able to cash in my government service for a free lifetime vehicle pass, so that was cool.

Rig did fine; no dramas on the drive to/from the park and around Bar Harbor. Stopped at two breweries on the way up, and five in the ride home, but we stayed in Portland on the way back to break up the return trip. Ate nothing but steak, crab and gobs of lobster for four days.

Campsite was nice and in a good spot.

Top of Cadillac Mountain. We got there as early as we could, and had most of it to ourselves for a mimosas and scenic overlooks of the ocean.

Maine is my favorite state. Steph and I try to visit once a year. Thank you for sharing and making me jealous!

Yes I agree! I took the family once every couple of years to Portland. There is so much to do in the summer. I love to go on the lobster fishing boat then when you return there is a place to cook your lobster you just caught and eat the New England clam chowder in the bread bowl. The sail boat ride is nice. In Portland they operate on the honor system which is cool. I stop to Kennebunkport on the way back to NYC and buy the Maple Syrup on the homemade glass bottle. Damn I need to go this summer.

bumper cover had to come off?
Bumper cover does not need to come off to change the steering rack. Only the underside protector with the four bolts. I would change the inner steering tie-rods and use Duralast Gold HD also the ends using OEM or at least grease the fittings. You are going to need an alignment. Don’t worry about the dash light with will go off once you align the truck.

lol, I don't need to change mine just was curious if the bumper cover had to come off for some reason I changed the one in my 03 a couple times, and a few older vehicles in the past.
but why on earth would you have a dash light from changing the rack n pinion?
I could see maybe if you totaly fubar'd it up so bad the yaw sensor was out of whack or something....

Ordered pads & rotors for front/rear from Rock Auto. I ordered the exact same parts as I did two years ago, and they were about $70 more expensive this time around.
Damn. How hard do you drive it?

I’ve had thecopcar 4.5 years and 40k miles. Haven’t changed them yet.
