So I have the opportunity to buy a 07 Denali with 172,000 miles for $7,000. It's got the 6.2 engine, AWD, navigation, rear entertainment, black leather with rear capitan seats, and heated steering wheel and seats.. I'm fairly sure it's a good deal but could I get some reassurance?

Here's some pictures and the sales description

The Story:
Betty is a good one. 100k miles safely and highly dependable for my family. She has GMC’s 6.2 liter Denali engine which is their most dependable workhorse. Buying a new vehicle and dealership low ball trade in value so I would rather sell to somebody low than trade in.

Pros:
- AWD so weather not an issue
- Black leather interior excellent condition
- Captain seats first & second row.
- Heated seats even 2nd row heated
- 3rd row seats
- Remote start & remote rear door open
- 70k mile Yokohama tires w less than 20k on them
- Rear entertainment center with remote & 2 wireless headphones with new covers
- Heated steering wheel
- Replaced fuel pump
- Replaced headlights

Cons:
- Has a crack in dash just like most other GMC or Chevy that body style. It’s a common problem. See pic.
- To open sunroof must open moonroof first then sunroof will open
- Small clear coat defect in center hood. See pic
- 2 chips in windshield that was replaced 2 yrs ago but not spreading

I thought the Denali had the 6 speed.
My 2007 Denali was a 6 speed.

For $7000, if the frame and body are pretty clean, might be worth it. Would check the condition of the struts and rear shocks. If they need replaced, your looking at between $600 and $800 depending on if you do it yourself and maintain auto level. Auto Level Air compressor will be another $150.

That’s a potential $800-$1000 in stuff. I would also recommend budgeting for a full fluid swap; diffs, transfer case, transmission, oil, brake, power steering. Plugs and wires.

All told, I would budget for $2000 in maintenance/parts if you go for it, but it is a good investment for long term durability of the vehicle.

No AFM, but the lifters still need good clean oil or they can have their rollers lock up and scrub your cam. Happened on my 2007 even with regular oil changes.
