Spliced the factory mic in the overhead console to the mic wire plugged into the Pioneer. It didn't work well at all. Wired up the Pioneer mic and mounted it above my head with the wire going through the headliner and out the sunroof trim. Now it may be TOO sensitive cuz my mom said it sounded like I was talking excessively loudly. Thinking of relocating it to the edge of the OHC or top of the A-pillar trim. If I had a brain, I would leave the wire out with plenty of slack so I could move the mic around while actually on a call to get the other person's feedback to determine the best location.

That's a big if.

This is the 2nd time in 2 weeks that I have build up crud on the positive battery terminal.

What am I missing?

Don’t mind the rust on that fender support. That is coming off, drilling a drain hole so it actually drains and giving it a fresh coat of paint.

Thoughts and/or fixes on the battery? Thanks.

Well, it's green, so it's free copper exposed to the air. I'd clean it really well, as in, wash, not sand. Give it a good coat of penetrox or the like when you put it back.

Thanks for that info. Looks like Lowe’s has something similar, just not that name brand and a whole lot less $.

Aluminum to copper
anti-oxidation compound.

Ya, I would hit it with a wire brush real good and get one of those green felt pads and spray it with something I am sure they must sell some anti corrosion stuff at the auto parts store.

Thx.

I wire brushed it and used vinegar the other week to dissolve/neutralize the oxidation, but wasn’t sure how to attack it and keep it from reoccurring. Some
good tips here.

That'll work.

The brush or scotch Brite is good for getting it off initially, but both will leave free particles behind (microscopic pieces of the tooling and the work piece). Removing these is the key. The grease is a good protective measure for the dissimilar metals.

Mine works great at the top of the A-pillar too.

Thanks for the feedback. I was liking that location because it's more out of the way and more in line if I was talking while faced straight ahead.

Top of the a pillar or right on the steering wheel by the hazard lights have always worked great for me

Leo in with the C-C-C-Combo Breaker!!! I like the column mount idea!

On/next to the OHC is closer, but I've already found that it can be TOO close. But, it's also good there because it can pick up passengers if they were in on the convo. Maybe I'll try centered on the back of the OHC. It'll definitely be out of the way.

Thanks for y'all's input!

I like the spray-on protector/sealers. The one I used years ago and never had a problem again looked like I poured candy apple stuff on the terminal. Grease and penetrox work, but they can be messy.
