My 4wd unit was bottom facing rear of truck. Probably should be same for awd unit no?

Yes it does fool you. We are so used to have tiny ass fill holes not a gaping ass hole easy to fill so enjoy it LOL.

I just looked up the part numbers and GM says to use 75W90 synthetic now for the front as well. They used the same old ACDelco part number with a new GM part number and say we're to add the limited slip/locker friction modifier now (88900330)

So the new bottles say 10-4016/88900401.

Oh fill plug…. Missed that part or read it as drain plug…. Meh such is life

it's been in the same place since forever on all of them

just fill it until some spills out the hole and put the cap back on

I would have done this Saturday when I was doing the rear end, but wife texted me saying we were going out to dinner after she got home so I wanted to make sure I had time to take a shower and get cleaned up.

My manual says that both the front and rear axles take the same stuff. GM #89021677. I bought 5qts of Mobil1 Delvac 75w90 and have about a half qt left over after doing both.
