I had a Chevy pick up that had a under hood storage box that was really nice to have to store articles. Does anyone know if there is a storage box that will fit on the left front area where a auxiliary battery would go for a 2009 Tahoe?

How about a battery box? I like the idea of an underhood storage box and being able to utilize the otherwise wasted space. Just gotta be mindful of what you put in there due to the temps. It could easily be insulated, though. Hell, maybe bolt a small cooler in there. It would be great for jumper cables, a quart of oil and/or power steering fluid, spare fuses, some basic tools, a spare fuel pump...

Anyone gotten any more creative on this. Found something with an upward door similar to the 96-99 version? Any pics?

Get something like this, pop off the handle, spray bomb it black, bolt it in:

This is kind of genius. The sliding door would be a big help due to the support crossbar deal above the battery tray. I haven't found any boxes that fit (my search hasn't been too extensive) due to being blocked by this crossbar, or the box cover removal process is more of a hassle than it is worth.

Plus a hidden cooler!

I just used 2 small eyelets and a strap to hold stuff I needed but didn’t use a ton. If it weren’t for that corner brace I would of just thru bolted it but it would of been hard to use.
