Out of the blue my Tahoe will not start. When I turn the key the Service 4WD and Service Blind Spot Assist warning show on the dash and it will not crank. Battery is brand new and fully charged, connections are snug. No blown fuses in fuse box under the hood. My scanner will not communicate when plugged into the OBD. It gets power, but no communication with ECM. Tried disconnecting the battery for a few hours and no change. I shifted to neutral to try and start the engine and I noticed that the truck doesn’t seem to know what gear its in on the cluster.

Just did a 5 hour drive in a snow storm to a friend’s place for New Years and truck drove perfectly until right before we got here, the speedometer started dropping to zero intermittently, parked it inside over night and it went to start it this morning, now I’m stranded. Checked ground to frame under the drivers seat and it looks ok. Not sure where to go from here. I suspect water intrusion somewhere. Any help is appreciated.

Does the shifter feel normal ???
Just a thought that in the snow, Your shifter cable came loose at the
the transmission and the reason it won't crank is that it's not in PARK
Easy to check too . It's a common issue
