Lol, believe me I want to, but I'm gun shy now. I don't wanna break something else lol.Not too shabby! Glad you have her back brother! I think those tires on her are too old.. you may need to "dispose" of them...![]()
What kind of seats did you get for the van? Anything comfy?Picked up the rear today, along with some front seats for the van. Got the rear from a guy who parts out gmt800's/900's. He had TONS of parts--PPVs too. He also had an NBS 2500.
Not too bad I think. Finally got her back. About $1k when all said and done.
$400 for a used rear(3.73's)
$170 for a new 800 cca battery(My cost)
And $504 for installation, rear brake lines, and misc.View attachment 371524View attachment 371525

Just got a stock set. I think they're from a 2017. Not really that comfy. Cloth instead of vinyl. What kind of seats did you get for the van? Anything comfy?
Thanks. Yeah, I think I got away cheap. I just hope it'll last me a few years. Btw--still burns rubber--it was accidental. Now I just need to find someone to weld in my mufflers. Too bad @iamdub isn't my neighbor.

I bought a cheap HF flux core welder when I had to weld my wheel tubs onto my new front fenders for my Silverado, it worked pretty good.25% off sale tomorrow at Harbor Freight. Coupon didn't say welders were excluded! Exhaust is one of the best things to learn on.
That's very true. I'm gonna stick my head under there tomorrow, see what kind of work he does. Hopefully my parking brake works now.Not like the engine guy, though. Could be worse.
Got the same coupon. View attachment 371532
I'm def not motivated enough, especially to do it on the ground.Yup! Welders aren't excluded. Grab you some gear, hit up YouTube University and get practicing!

That’s my problem, when I was thinking about doing my exhaust on my Silverado. It’s one thing if it’s up on a lift but trying to do exhaust while laying on your back just seems too much for me. Just doing mechanical work is hard enough, every tool is just out of reach and I end up climbing in and out from under there a hundred times. Fitting exhaust pieces and then welding when it’s basically right in your face…no thanks.I'm def not motivated enough, especially to do it on the ground.

My kid welds. Of course he lives 3 hrs away.Heard!
I've burnt my face having to remove my hood to fit my melon up high enough to see the top of the exhaust pipe. I'd aim my gun, squint really hard, purse my lips, pull the trigger and move the gun by by memory and trying to imagine where my hand was and how the bead was laying. Tried two pairs of dark tinted safety goggles, too. Eyelids and cheeks felt like sandpaper the next morning. I also looked like I had acne.
When working on the exhaust tip, I lowered the lift to put the exit right at eye level. I looked into the pipe and focused on the light coming through the thin gap in the joint (butt weld). I reached up behind the bumper cover with the gun and watched the metal in the pipe glow orange. I kept the hottest part (yellow) on the joint and guessed my bead location that way. Did surprisingly well. I tend to give fewer fcuks when welding exhaust unless I know it'll be my permanent iteration.
