The guys at BlackBear must be busy and working late. Justin sent me my tune files at 8:00 tonight. I loaded them into the autocal and will install then in the morning. I can't wait to see what this 4.8 will do with a good tune and a good IAT sensor. He told me he's never seen one fail and not throw a code like that one did. I would have never known it was fried if he hadn't alerted me to the reading he saw. Anyway it might be awhile before I test the tune since it's supposed to start raining again and I don't want to drive this thing in the rain and have to clean it again. Because show truck lol.

I'd also be curious on what the 4.8 is capable of. I also have it in my Express van.

Here it is with the 26 x 14's. He said he went to some 28's after this and then to the ones that are on it now. I might get something like these in the future if I can sell the ones on it now. Crazy since they're over $6000 a set. I'm pretty sure he was trading them among his buddies in Cali but still...

Had a 4.8 in my '03 and was pleasantly surprised with it. I'm sure a BB Tune will wake it up nicely.

Nothing wrong with the 4.8. BB tuned mine nicely. It may never outrun the 6.0/6.2L, but it sure is fun to drive.
As long as it's a v8 it's all good in my book. Had a 4.7 in my Dakota and loved it. Much lighter truck but it was quick.

I used to have a 2002 RCSB 4x4 lifted with the 4.8 and a 5 speed. Full Gibson exhaust and headers, it was surprisingly quick.

Actually I just installed a new passenger seat bottom yesterday and did an oil change a few days before. And about those wheels... I asked the PO and he said he sold them long ago dammit. But I just added 2" spacers to the rears and they look way better.

So I installed the tune today but something's wrong with the TCM tune. It doesn't load like normal and it actually put my trans in limp mode and I got a CEL with code U101, lost communication with TCM. I loaded the stock TCM tune back in and it's good now. I emailed Justin and will wait to see what he figures out.

I did install the wheel spacers today. And while the wheels were off I took a look at the speed sensors and believe I found the reason for the codes I was getting- they were covered in metal dust and grease. Hopefully that fixes them. Also cleaned the backs of the intros; they were pretty bad.

Yessir it's on my list. I need some bigger split loom. I used all mine on The Beast. I need to pull the rear wheels in awhile to re-torque the wheel spacers and I figured I'd do it then. Good eye my friend. Also need to paint the drums black until I do the conversion.
