Nope. It’s shaped different inside/ outside. It’s an oval but the outside is a bigger diameter than the inside. And the step pads wrap down the front, you can see it in this picture.I don't suppose that the "step" part of the running board could be flipped around so the dent is on the inside? Knowing you, you already looked into that. But in the off chance...![]()
What interface did you get? That Maestro you have is great, but some expensive.I’ve got a few things coming up to do to the Tahoe now. Arnott rear shocks coming from Rock Auto, oil change and send a sample to Blackstone, Pioneer from The Beast is going in after I build the wiring harness and program the interface I bought from Crutchfield, and hopefully remove the dash to repair the cracks with the hot stapler I just bought. Weather has been crap lately and parts are still coming in. Wednesday’s weather is looking good so I’ll start then.![]()
I bought the Crux GS-GM29 for $99. The Maestro was way more. I just got it pre-wired to an aftermarket Pioneer harness so I could leave all the wiring in the Denali as is and be able to swap it back in easily. I was dumb and threw the harness that came with the new Pioneer away a few months ago when I installed it because the old harness that was in the truck was the same. Anyway wiring the two harnesses together was straightforward, all the color codes were the same between except a couple wires. Tomorrow I’ll install the stereo and make sure everything works. I like the new Pioneer because with no disc mechanism it is small enough to fit the Crux on top of it. There’s not much room in the dash to stuff more in.What interface did you get? I don’t think so. I never used them anyway. But yeah I love the Pioneers. This one has wireless CarPlay and it connects instantly, which is better than the previous generation which had a lag. I like being able to keep my phone in my pocket.I prefer Pioneer radios over anything else. @Trey Hardy had recommended a Sony DD to me. Gifted it to my gf for her van. Of course i was driving it for awhile. I just didn't like the Sony, and neither did my gf. Sold it after a few months. I then bought ANOTHER Pioneer DD. I have 3 now. They're just so easy to use, and they come with lots of nice features. Did yours come with a remote?
Not Sony cuz all I use is kenwood that’s all I ever have used lol but had a lot of buddy’s with pioneers and they all loved themI prefer Pioneer radios over anything else. @Trey Hardy had recommended a Sony DD to me. Correct, Kenwood. My memory sux. It had a single knob on it.Not Sony cuz all I use is kenwood that’s all I ever have used lol but had a lot of buddy’s with pioneers and they all loved them View attachment 451603this is the one that was in the truck it had a cd player behind the screen
The one in the Tahoe is a lil smaller and has the cd player on top like normal it’s a older one from 2016View attachment 451604
Good looking Pioneer Mark.Got the Pioneer installed. At first there was no audio so I called Crutchfield tech support, glad I bought the Crux interface from them. He talked me through and we ended up wiring the amp turn on to the accessory wire, not sure why the Crux wasn’t doing it. Sure is nice having a new touch screen with wireless CarPlay. It makes the interior look current, that old HU was a brick and the navigation had a lot to be desired. Sounds better too.
What HU? Got a link? I’m in the market and researchingGot the Pioneer installed. At first there was no audio so I called Crutchfield tech support, glad I bought the Crux interface from them. Did you trim the inner fender? Also installed the Arnott rear shocks. The compressor actually still works fine which is amazing considering the old shocks. I haven’t seen any this bad but this is a Washington vehicle and they do use some salt on the roads. The rust is not bad at all but the left shock sure was! First thing I saw on the DIC was the “ service stabilitrack “ and “ service traction control “ messages but I knew exactly what that was thanks to this forum- sure enough I unplugged that damn connector on the right frame rail. Plugged it back in. I was able to do the ALC trim set calibration and the “ service suspension “ messsge was gone. Went to the dog park and when I started it to come home, the messsge was back, so I used the Tech 2 to figure out it was the RR damper actuator which is what Arnott supplied the resistors to plug in and spoof the computer. I swapped them side to side and the trouble didn’t follow so I figured it was the connector - the old shock had corrosion on that connector. I used contact cleaner and exercised the plug and now no more messages. Yay!
It’s the Pioneer DMH-W3050NEX. I bought it on Amazon, installed it in The Beast just before I blew the trans. So I pulled it and installed it in the Tahoe for now. What HU? Got a link? I’m in the market and researching
No, do I need to? I did pull them to install the shocks. Actually they’re still off because I was messing with the wiring to get that DTC to go away.Did you trim the inner fender?
