Just bought (3) retired 2019 PPV Tahoe's.
Rear windows will not roll down from the rear switches.
Rear switches are connected and looked in the pillars and everything is connected there too.
Window switches on driver's front door are all connected.
Windows do roll up and down from the driver's switch.
All fuses are good.
Any ideas?

I'm in the same boat. My 2015 was a K9 truck, so they had butchered the wiring in the rear doors to splice in a remote setup so they could lower the windows if the dog got too hot. I fixed the wiring back to factory, installed rear door panels, etc.

I exhausted this with a former GM district service rep that worked for my company, who had access to the GM system still.

Basically you need to go to the dealer and have them call the programming folks at GMHQ, who need to write you a BCM program for your VIN that enables the rear windows. Its only supposed to cost $100 for the program, plus whatever they charge you to reflash the BCM

I haven't done mine yet, so YMMV

Same boat here with my 2017 Tahoe PPV. Window switches in rear side doors do nothing. Inner door latch cables removed. I ordered cables, but GM strike affecting shipment. Will dive more into why the switches aren't working this coming week.

My back side door inner latch cables were disconnected from the latch handles and tucked in down by the side of the window with electrical tape on the unconnected end.

Try this.....If you remove the switch and take it apart, you will find a silicone 'membrane', like a membrane computer keyboard has. I think it is flipped over to render it inoperable, so you need to flip it back.

On the 2019 PPV, it looks like the SEO option 6N5 (SWITCHES – REAR WINDOW INOPERATIVE) makes the rear door windows inoperable at the door switch. Check your SPID label, possibly on the glove box door. IIRC, that will require a BCM update to remedy.

My 2016 Tahoe PPV rear window switches feel really stiff. Either they are dummy switches or something is jammed inside to prevent the rear windows from operating. Controls from the drivers side work fine.

Has anyone had any luck fixing the rear inoperable window?
I'm in the middle of restoring a 2019 PPV, ive installed all new interior and all I have left is to figure out how to wire the console as there's no connector, just wires hanging and also the rear windows do not work.
Also trying to figure out if there's hidden wires for the 3rd row seat to install switch to raise and lower powered seats.

Sounds like it's a prigrammimg thing to get the rear window switches working.

For the powered seat there's a good chance the wiring isn't there. Police vehicles usually have unique wiring harnesses that don't include options they didn't have.

Do you know the best route to get a BCM update?
Dealerships are not helpful at all.

It's definitely the programming.
All I really care about is the rear windows, as here in Canada I can't even get it saftied to drive with the windows inoperable and the GM dealerships are completely clueless

It was nice and simple on my 2014, just replace the dummy switches. How do you know "It's definitely the programming"? Do you show the 6N5 option on your codes?

For 2019 Tahoe's, 6N5 option is: "Rear door window switches are inoperable. Rear door power regulators are operable only from driver position switches."* If yours are not working from the driver's seat you may have a different issue.

I don't know about the Tech 2's, but my little Foxwell scanner will operate the windows. Buying, borrowing or "renting" one of those might be worth it. And if it doesn't power from drivers seat, you my start with something as simple as throwing juice to the motors to make sure they are working from the start.

Just looking at online fuse diagrams that don't make sense, they show driver and passenger fuses, but I don't see rear windows listed..

I'm on the same boat, except mine will not work from front or back switches.
2019 tahoe PPV
It's pretty stressful because nobody will safety it and I'm just out of ideas.
I even went and bought a programmer and a laptop, paid the subscription and got onto the BCM to see if there were codes i can disable but I am not seeing anything
At this point I might just cut the power line and rewired it from somewhere else.

With the door open there is a plastic lock out switch for child safety. There should also be a little decal showing the position for it to be locked and unlocked. If the plastic lock, has a flathead screw driver top, is turned the wrong way your windows will be locked. (maybe this lock is for the door lock not the windows?)

I have a 2008 Denali, I just found out last week that both of my rear windows would not roll down from the back seat switches? I assumed my driver door controller was not working. Took it apart and cleaned it, no change at all?? I took the rear door switch out on one side, opened it up and cleaned everything well. I really did not see anything that I thought might cause lack of function. Put it all back together after cleaning and drying. Switch works like brand new? Did the other side rear window switch and it also works like brand new? I cleaned the electrical contacts with alcohol and a q tip, nothing special. Washed out the switch case in dish soap and water, rinsed well and dried with my air hose. Both rear windows now work. I never would have thought both rear windows could fail like that and be repaired with this cleaning. Worked for me, 08 Denali, 140,000 miles on it. It is difficult to open up the switch once removed without breaking anything. I have a tiny screw driver that helped open the locks without breaking them.

That switch you can see with the door open is for the child proof door locks.
The difference here is PPV's are the police version, they come with a more permanent way of the rear interior door releases and window controls being disabled then what's available with the normal models.

I've recently gotten a 2017 SSV. As you said, the door latches & locks were an easy fix. For the rear windows, I recently bought a replacement door window switch off eBay for $13, for a cheap experiment. When it was installed, the new switch in the rear door operated the window, but in reverse (pull the switch up, the window went down, and vice versa). Also, the driver control for that window stopped working.

After I returned the original switch, it didn't work, and the drivers control worked again. I read that as the wiring is good, but the programming is unlearned, and maybe the switches are no good/dummy.

I went through the settings available via a Topdon AD800 BT scan tool, which is pretty nice, but not apparently thorough enough to get to the nut of the problem.

I'm going to take it to my local Good Guy mechanic this week, maybe he can get to the root of it.
