Spent a couple hours at the Auto Paint Shop getting my colors mixed, clear coat, reducer and hardener and picking up other supplies

Decided to go with my original idea of black on bermuda blue.

Made a couple animated GIF's to show the Bermuda in action.

started on bodywork yesterday. pretty much sanded and scuffed until the sun went down. my right hand was so sore i could barely lift a beer can.

the hood had a few little areas where the clear was faded/oxidizing. might not look like it but it's smooth as a baby now.

just in case anybody is wondering. These black plastics are super easy to remove. Just (6) 10mm screws from the bottom then pull them straight up.

then the painted cladding pulls apart like a Hot Wheels track and has one plastic clip in the front wheelwell

I got through doing the Hood, front Bumper, and the whole passenger side. The paint is damn nice on this thing considering its a '03. Makes things a lot easier. Front bumper needs more work and a little body filler and more sanding. Also have a scratch/groove on the rear passenger side needs a lil glaze love. Still got plenty more to do. One thing is for sure, you will never see the Pewter paint glossy and shining again! haha

Coming along nice so far. How you gonna get to the roof? That'll suk a little.

yes, the roof will be a bit of a pain. i will probably just remove the roof rack and then lay up there with my bucket and sand away and i will probably tackle that next. When it comes to spraying, the roof is always the first thing i spray, so the air hose isnt touching anything i just sprayed. Plus it's the least seen area so the quality doesnt have to be immacullate.

Really, nothing i do is EVER perfect, but i get better everytime.

i guarantee this Denali won't be rolling across Barrett-Jackson with an immaculate paint job. But i will get to my goal. When i have a thought.. it HAS to execute

This is not a scene from Pulp Fiction :)

New Gun(s) came in.

I already own a Devilbiss kit. But that kit needs more CFM to spray. This Eastwood Concours Pro is virtually the Only HVLP gun that will spray great at a low CFM. Premeditated research for garage budget painting (compressor/gun).
