Hi I have a 2013 Chevy suburban with a 5.3L last year I got the oil pressure sensor changed because it went bad it’s been fine till today when I was driving I gotta check engine light when I scanned the code i got code PO521 mind you the oil pressure gauge didn’t change from what it was saying before the code popped up im currently stuck at the moment if anyone has dealt with this and could possibly know what could make the code pop up I’d greatly appreciate the input on how to fix it

Thank you in advance

A bad sensor?

With the engine on and transmission in park, vary the engine speed by 500 rpm, verify with a scan tool that the engine oil pressure changes by more than 5 psi. It doesn't do that, you have to discover why the loss of actual oil pressure. If the pressure tests normal, replace the sensor.

GM OE sensors for the win, aftermarket sensors don't play nice with the computer system.

I had the same problem on 1000 mile trip to Chicago, would cut out and throw a light on occasionally, kicking out cruise and such. Put a new standard brand sensor and it works well.

It might be the oil pump pick up tube seal
