O.E. Tires

When purchasing new vehicles in the past, I've done tons of research on pretty much everything EXCEPT the tires, & it burned me a time or two.
I know sometimes the O.E. tires can be pretty good & sometimes you can't get them off your vehicle soon enough. (Wrangler SR-A's)
I see my 2025 Yukon AT4 Ultimate is coming with Wrangler Trailrunner AT tires. Does anybody have any experience with this particular tire?
In reading the tire reviews, it's pretty much mid-pack, pretty good in some areas, just so-so in some areas, and horrible in a few others.
If you have any experience with this tire, is it okay, or should I start shopping? They'd probably be fine for most of my city driving, but
living in Idaho, they'll get their fair share of winter roads too.

I have a house in Sun Valley and spend couple months out there during ski season. The Trailrunners are actually good in the snow. That being said I replaced with nitto Terra Grapplers g3 when new one were needed.

No experience with them but if you don't like them, sell them off after buying what you want. Don't punish yourself with subpar tires, the tire is the most important part linking you and your passengers to the road.

I absolutely hate the Alenza's that come with the new 25 I have coming in. The problem is there are no good tires made in the 24 inch size yet. I will have to muddle through probably 12 to 18 months with these tires before I switch to Pirelli's or Michelin's. They are death traps especially in the rain.

With the tread design and a 3 peak rating, I would think they would be great in the winter. Generally, I have always found Goodyear AT type tires do a great job for me and in North Idaho my self i would run them.

I know that you want to get ahead of things and have quality tires for your truck, but as @swathdiver suggested, take delivery of the truck with the original tires, and if you don't like them, then replace them.

I am totally sold on Michelin Defenders (I don't off-road), and they have easily handled anything that the NH winters have thrown at them.

I think you may have that tire confused with another. From Goodyears own website, the "Territory" AT has a 3 peak rating but the "TrailRunner" AT the vehicle comes equipped with, does not.
(Except in LT sizes, which these are not)
If I HAVE to change though, I'm leaning towards the Bridgestone Dueler AT Ascent. Needless to say, I just hate pulling new tires off a new vehicle.
What's worse though is the last time I had to do it, they were "supposedly" an uplevel (extra cost option) that I SELECTED!

I just put a set of BFG Trail Terrain TA. So far love em! Ride nice, Quiet on the highway, Look good and im sure will be fine up in the mountains until the snow gets to deep to even bother going in the woods.

When I talk about having to replace a new set of tires, I actually installed the previous version of the Michelin Defender LTX M/S on my '15 1500 Sierra Denali. That winter I road tripped thru some pretty bad weather in Western Wyoming, and wound up spending Christmas 2016 in Boise, Idaho during what they called "Snopocalypse." I had to spend quite a bit of time in 4 wheel drive due to the loose, deep snow, but the Defenders did surprisingly well, especially considering the empty, light pickup bed.

When was the last time GM put THE BEST tire on any of their vehicles (for a specifically given purpose)?
There's ALWAYS a cost compromise involved; if you're willing to shop around and research, you can always select a better tire than GM did.

Don't punish yourself with subpar tires, the tire is the most important part linking you and your passengers to the road.

A sportscar with minivan tires is a minivan that only seats two (or 2+2) people.

Something odd I've noticed:
If you ask TireRack on the phone, their agents' recommendations do not always agree with their website's.
If you buy your tires from TireRack, you may want to ask why.
