Getting there! took the night off on it. Got my driveshaft back tonight. Hopefully start getting the truck torn down this weekend and get the trans and tcase ready to go. At that point it will just be waiting for the converter and I can throw it in the truck and start all of the odds and ends to get it running

Getting closer. Circle D converter came in today. Also my Comp Trunion Upgrade. Got the shift kit installed in the trans this weekend as well. Hopefully get my heads back tonight and have the motor finished up in the next few days. Just a matter of pulling the old stuff and dropping everything in now.

Taking it apart

Got ambitious last night. Got the motor finished up and got the truck tore apart. Motor is about an hour away from being ready to pull.

Trunion Upgrade- Took about 20 minutes, super easy

got the T case out, man what a *****! After I got it out, all 20 so of the bolts that hold the case together were so rusted that they didnt really have edges. Had to hammer a smaller socket on every ******** bolt. Finally got it apart after about 2 hours.

Got everything done besides the last snap ring that holds the input shaft and gears into the case. I cant get that bastard off. I dont have a set of the special horseshoe snap ring pliers, and I broke my nice craftsman ones trying to get it apart. Have to regroup on that today after work.

excuse the messy floor, we just got 4" of rain so everything got wet and the frost is still coming out of the ground.Fun

Hopefully get the motor pulled tonight, running by next weekend.

Got the motor out last night. Need to run new fuel lines as the current ones are crusty as hell. Might as well with everything out. Also going to clean up what I can before putting everything back in.

haha something like that. Ya i cant wait either. Ive done motor swaps and stuff before, but this is the most ive done with getting into the motor, trans and t case. Hopefully get all the wiring done and everything cleaned up monday/tuesday. Need to pull the bed to change the fuel pump and run new fuel lines. Should be ready to drop the motor in next Saturday, hopefully started by sunday night? Depends if I can get a start up tune and run on the wrong injectors to start it.

Just found out the TBSS reps are 6-8 weeks out still, shit! I need wheels before a big car sow weekend in May. Might have to find something else that I like.

Ever put your Tcase back together and then remember the chain is sitting on the shelf? Dammit lol. Got really good at taking it apart and putting it togther.

Just have to do the wiring for the trans and run new fuel lines and the motor is ready to go back in.

ya i get around haha. I ended up finding a pair of snap ring pliers made for that kind of snap ring, made my life a TON easier, after i remember to remove the speed sensors. I had it apart and back together about 3 times haha.

Very nice build so far.
So is this just going to be a weekend car, or a replacement for the Tahoe?
I may be able to get you those polished reps if you have not sealed the deal with the place you bought it from.
