My names Nathan I just became the new owner of a 06 Tahoe definitely excited it’s my first suv and I’m just looking to make minor mods but I’m having trouble figuring out why my stock radio illuminates but I can’t get any sound it only shows the clock is it a fuse issue?

If the seller just put that radio in, it may not be unlocked. Does the sound work if you are playing a CD?

It’s the original radio and I haven’t tried putting a cd in it yet

So, I am assuming you did not try the radio before the buying. The cd would let you know if the volume works and if the cd works but then the radio doesn't. Also, have you chose the right options on the face of the radio. If nothing works, then either the whole thing is bad or maybe a dealer can unlock it and get it working.

In terms of your ask, do you know if you have speakers or an amp? If either of those is missing, or the wiring in between, or any of those is damaged, that's another reason why you wouldn't have sound.
