I’ve become a bit more active on here so figured I’d throw out a few pics of my other two vehicles.

First up, my first car. Started life as a 1970 Buick GS 350/350 car. Put in a 400bbb and then roasted the th350. Car ended up being parked after that outside and then inside. She did not fare well over the years body wise but that’s ok. I figured I’ll just got for a roadkill style look till I do body work and paint.

Current upgrades I’ve gotten in:
Chevy 12 bolt rear end
72 Muncie m21
4th gen f body brakes front and rear
Big sway bars front and rear
Fully adjustable upper front control arms
Qa1 coil overs
Poly body mounts
18” wheels 9.5” rear with 285/40’s and 8.5” fronts with 245/40’s


I still have a pile of parts to put on/in and button up like 3.55 gears,finish hydraulic throw out setup, a spare 455 I want to drop in, new seat covers for the fronts, need to wire up everything still etc.

And recently just powder coated a few things. The headers already coated are for my Tahoe but the Buick ones got the same cerakote ceramic coating.

'70 is my favorite year for Skylark GS front ends. My little brother had a GS350, red with black interior and white landau top. I always wanted a '70 or '71 GS convertible with a 4-speed but they are a pretty penny. I bought the Yukon instead. Maybe later.

Kenne Bell made a lot of go-fast parts for the Buick 350, that motor makes a ton of torque, especially the 350 Stage 1.

I see a full off frame restoration in far into the future; but not too far!

I didn’t spend much time looking at 350 stuff. Bought that 400 for $300 when I was 17 and threw it in. It’s been decent to me. The 455 was also dirt cheap but trying to decide if I should try and save up to do a full build, do a basic rebuild or just toss it in now with a few bolt ins.

I also have a 1985 m1009 CUCV. It kind of fell in my lap from a friend. At the time I had a wrx which was fun but pretty useless for a lot of things and this was cheap. Then things escalated quickly lol.

First up was paint and then some suspension stuff. Then it needed tires because they looked small. That was all within a few months. It got a 2” lift and 33” tall tires.

Then came the turbo. It came with a 6.2 NA diesel and it just wasn’t cutting it. Up at 10,000ft plus on trails it would smoke like crazy and get hot. The turbo helped a ton.

Then came the 1 ton axles thanks to a junk parts truck I paid next to nothing for. Ended up parting it out for twice what I paid and bought me some 35” ko2’s as well. I threw disc brakes on, shaved the pumpkin, threw on some beefier steering (still have to install crossover). I ended up cutting the rest up and tossing it in the trash.

Inside has changed a bit too. Put in some Subaru front seats I got for cheap and then got a free rear Tahoe seat that is still removable via some brackets I made(didn’t care about color being different since it was free). I’ve got some storage spots using ammo cans mostly, a hand throttle knob for winching.

Believe me, I’d love to be working on it whenever I have free time but still finishing up home renovations and literally just had a baby so things are a bit on the back burner for now.

I’ll probably never have a fast Buick but it’ll be fun for sure. Too bad the bottom ends are so weak in stock form or I’d seriously consider a single turbo.

Yeah, you have way too many irons in the fire right now with the house and children too!

I never knew them to be weak. The 10 and 9 second cars would use girdles but the street cars did not back then. Those 350s and 400s (yours a Buick?) are especially stout. Our LS engines look like race engines comparatively, we made over 500 horses with some of our turbo 6s with the stock blocks and cranks, never broke one. 2 bolt mains!
