Hey all!

Just picked up a 2019 White Tahoe RST 6.2
53000 miles..

Pictures inbound shortly.......

Targeted the car out of Charlotte NC and my dealer bought it for me out of Chevy dealer not to be named. Long story but joint you wouldnt want to buy your next chevy

So first steps after the paperwork was to get some stuff right....

Car was out of MA and had some under body corrosion. Fixed all that with high end restoration at a local specialty shop. Looks better and far better protected than new.

All blown suspension. Dont get me started on that coming out of another full on chevy dealership....but either way replaced it all with full Magnaride Strutmasters setup. SM is in Roxboro NC so not to far hopefully it holds up.

Also added...
Brembo brake kit on front...powerstop on back.
Chevy Borla catback with the black tips of course
Corsa CAI
Hellwig front and rear sways

I'll be taking it home after almost 4 weeks tomorrow. I had a Black 2019 6.2 Premier a couple years ago and didnt realize how much I loved that truck until it was gone. This one will be my baby......not my DD. I have a great relationship with the dealer so alot of the work that will be done is on the side with a pal whose a master there.

Truck was a cream puff besides the under body stuff and suspension. Super excited to be part of the community. Im just getting started. Used to mod and sell parts on the mazdaspeed platform many years ago. Once had the first BT ms3 on the planet and enjoyed going to hell and back with it up until I didnt. Built some more mild stuff after that with 4bangers then took 15 years off.

Now I need a hobby and new friends again. Plan is to build a really slick elegant SC tahoe. A tough task to be elegant with a blower but this is the start of the plan!

I'll need help along the way from you guys!

BTW...took home two loaner 2024 tahoes....a rst and a high country. The new ones dont suit me. Theres something raunchy and cool about this generation. Rather pick this one up for 40 and drop some dough to make it all mine. Just makes more sense if youre a car guy

Glad to have a community to help show me the way. Back in the MS days i blew like 4 engines pushing a platform. Theres a reassurance that nothing Im going to do here hasnt been done before :)

Welcome aboard. I’m a fellow North Carolinian as well. Probably frequent a lot the same places as I’m well aquatinted with the Greensboro area.

Can’t wait to see pics of the truck!

I'm in full agreement with you on the earlier machines. And it shocks me to see the rust underneath some of these body on frame vehicles with pristine looking bodies. If they can coat the super thin sheet metal to prevent rusting they can surely do something with the frame and suspension iron and steel.

The newer ones feel more like fat EVs and the older gens arent modern enough. This gen looks like a modern bad ass gasoline powered truck. It resonates with me

I drove both these new 6.2's home over night over several days. Both times when I drove off the lot I thought I had a new car and both times by the time I dropped them off I didnt want to 70k for something with no soul. My girlfriend loved the high country but I didnt think it was grungy enough. It def was elegant as hell. I did like the look of the black RST but it wasnt grungy or cool or anything behind the wheel. I felt like a poser.

Theres something about his gen that I love different. I cant describe it well. Im going retrofit the interior and dash a bit but the core of it feels like a sporty cockpit. So much better than the space decky feel and chunky drive of what followed

And my car only had 53000 miles but the underbody was hammered. Suspension has blown on all 4 wheels. My guys are a cadillac dealership in greensboro who agreed theyd pick it up from the chevy dealership we bought it from. car had amazing bones for what i planned but it makes me sick somebody on a budget may have bought it this way.

Ive had it there literally a month as parts were arriving and i brought it back to new.... i havent taken it home except a couple days at all. Literally drove it around on thanksgiving day and thats bout it. Finally now in the next couple days it will be at its real home. Im super excited for this stupid truck. 53 yo kid again

Im really happy. Ive owned so many nutty goofy different rides. Gave em up every 12-18 months for something different. This one for some reason I know already im going to keep for awhile

Heres my other rides. The XT5 i spend most of my around town time in. The tahoe is a perfect 3rd. It will be really perfect by the time Im done

Is that an Alpha Romeo? A buddy of mine at work has a blue one. I keep telling him the wheels on it look like Lego wheels.
