I tried watching it and I have Amazon prime as well and it wouldn’t let me without the motor trend subscription

Are these oil filter part #’s being discussed here the ones I need for our ‘19 Tahoe 5.3? Assume so, but asking for confirmation.

Here is a shot of the filters cut open, most are very similar with the exception of filter media choice...

Basically, the lower level frams have a paper retainer for the filter media...the fram ultra as well the others have a metal retainer.
that said, if i recall, the motorcraft FL1A line had the better overall results. it is an interesting video, they tested flow, psi and others.

I watched....basically as put, other than the 2 lower frams..out were of no difference.

The only stand out was how the Motorcraft chooses to bypass

I will have to rewatch and explain back that portion

For what it is worth...if anyone plays with any motor mods at all, the price is worth engine masters alone.

Look closely, it lists the flow and psi of each...as well as the micron rating.

The k&n did very well as it is the smallest micron rating

If I remember correctly Purolator makes the Motorcraft filters to Ford specs.

I strongly question and often disagree with a number of GM's specs. This leads me to question other manufacturer's specs as well, especially when a third party is involved as the specs could be biased/bought by contracts between companies.

Although, I strongly adhere to GM's LS engine build specs. It's a proven design and actually kinda fun hitting their numbers.

I switched over to WIX in all my vehicles last year. I had an AC Delco filter that was just not right after a change so I started with WIX and have had no issues. I use WL10255 on my Yukon and H2. These are newer version filters with a higher bypass valve than other filters.
