Is there an oil filter than can be used on both Gen III and Gen IV engines?

I've been stocking Wix 51042 for my Gen III 5.3 and 6.0 and Wix 57060 for our Gen IV L96 Express van. I buy them in 6 or 12 packs, but was wondering if I can consolidate and use the same filter for both?

Google says the PF46 was the older Gen III, but not recommended for the Gen IV, which used the PF48 or the longer PF63 (and these are backwards compatible with the Gen III?). However, when I cross reference the PF63, I get the Wix WL10255? I'm kinda confused...

What shows up in RA for the Gen IV is the Wix 57060XP and 51042XP for the Gen III. Or just order the AC Delco PF48? RA doesn't even show the PF63 currently.

Here's what shows up on the RA website:

Thanks in advance.

The Gen III oil filters for the 5.3L have SAE threads (13/16-16 IN) while later engines use metric (22X1.5 mm). Although the short WIX 51042 is the spec for my '04, I use the longer 51522 (the "XP" version can also be used).
Ok, i think that's what I eventually figured out about the filter threads being different. Bummer.

I'll keep the 2 different types. Unless I swap oil pans, but that's work I do really want to do...

Possible to just change the threaded boss?
But I thought I heard something about the drainback valve being different too..
