I had 60 series tires on my 20s for two and a half years and I really enjoyed the 60 series tires. It filled the wheel wells nicely. And I loved the ride on the 60 series tires. I’m now on 65 series tires and leveling keys because the deal was too good to pass up. But the ride is quite a bit more stiff than what it was on the 60s and I really miss that. When these tires are done I will probably go back to 60 series tires.

Thank you for this, I have been searching and searching info about lifters and what I can use since the LS7 lifters are on national backorder. I don't mind spending a little more on lifters, are these good ones?

They are stock replacements and not recommended it seems for performance camshafts.

The 12499225 are the ones you want, that or a Morel or Johnson. They are not a stock replacement and are designed for performance cams. I've been running them on a 231/246 .640 lift cam without any issues. Along with many, many other people running all sorts of LS combinations. And I'll probably actually buy some just to have since they're back in stock lol

Just for peace of mind even though you aren't milling the heads or going aftermarket (as far as I know), I'm sure you'll at least be replacing the head gaskets, hopefully hahah. So whether it's an oem replacement gasket or something thinner or thicker, grab a push rod length checker and see if your stock rods will work. Those GMPP lifters like .060"-.080" preload to be happy.

Keep up the work!! Reminds me I need to take care of some paint work on mine like the mirror caps.

Yeah. 275/65/R20. They came off my mechanics 2020 F350 when he upgraded to bigger tires and did a whole suspension upgrade.

Thanks, what brand and model are they? Was thinking of going with this size as it's the tallest tire that can fit on stock wheels without modifications for clearance.

The nitto durra grapplers I had before in the 60 series fit with zero modification. But the 275/65R20s I have now are Michelin LTX A/T2s and the front had to be leveled to clear them.

No, 20s. Several people with 900s and K2s, pickups and wagons, have stated that these tires do not rub when used with stock wheels on stock suspensions.

Yes, tallest skinny tire in a 20 we can get from my research. Too bad they are not made in Load Range C by BFG as KO2s. I don't think Michelin makes them either; forget.

Random question, since I have ARH headers waiting to install, should I use the gasket they provided, or should I use the GM one?

It's been my experience that the gaskets header companies provide aren't that great. I like using oem or Fel pro myself.

What Tony said. Header companies often provide a cheap paper gasket. I recommend MLS only. I used Mahle on mine because they were the cheapest, but looked identical to the factory originals and the MLS ones by Fel-Pro.

I received the updated tune file from Blackbear. Still waiting on some parts to arrive, but I'm hoping to start tearing in to it in 2 weeks. A friend is loaning a space in his shop, and luckily he has a lift.

My LS7 lifters are here, so I'm planning on starting the build the 3rd week in August (vacation time). I am still gathering more parts, like a 40k Tru cool trans cooler, and all new lines.

....from you guys experience, looking for advice...... Should I buy a 4 corner steam kit? My L9H is aluminum and the rear steam ports are blocked off from factory.. would the 4 corner steam kit be overkill, or necessary?

Not necessary, but it's one of those things that could only help and not hurt. I wanted one but never had the time to go scour the salvage yard for one while I was doing mine. I still look for them when I go to the 'yard and will install it if I find one. Until then, I'm not pining for it. If you find one, get it and throw it on. If not, don't let it hold up the project. BTW, NAPA has O-rings that are good replacements for the ones in those coolant blocks for about $1 each. I may have the part number in my build thread, but it'd probably be faster to bring a block to NAPA and match the O-ring.

As far as dropping the coin on one of the fancy aftermarket fabricated ones, that's up to you and your wallet. IMO, any gain isn't worth spending that much on those kits.
