Hey everyone. Just picked this up yesterday. 2004 tahoe with 190k on it. It needs a little love but im looking forward to getting her to my liking. Right now I gotta get rid of this check engine light. Just needs an evap canister lol

Sorry, I gotta ask. What CEL code did you get that TELLS you to replace the evap/charcoal cannister? Or did you already go thru the diagnostics for the code? Or, have you broke out the parts cannon? Just curious.

The guy I got it from is a mechanic so he had his snap-on code reader hooked up when I bought it

The point being made is that there is no code that says, "replace this part". Anyone can guess from a code and replace a part and get lucky. Happens all the time. The code just tells you what system is having problems.

I don't remember the code. I'm waiting to hear back from the guy I bought it from. But he showed me when I bought it that the line that goes from it to the fuel tank, the nipple/connection is broken from a previous person dropping the tank
Post #13 to get that info. Very important info given now.
