First rod and piston i separated, i sorta gouged the bushing in the rod

Thinking i was fkd on that rod, i did some searching and found the bushings are available...

any experience having bushings installed?
I was sorta thinking i might as well have all 8 freshened up while i was at it.

So i decided i wanted to put a coat of engine primer on my new 6.0
then i saw the instructions said "within 10min next coats"
then "within 10min apply color coat"
then "Within 10min apply clear coat"
then "all coats within 1 hr"

Me: ffffffffff

Painted, and mostly cured now..
I think it will look much better once assembled.

Have you figured out what went wrong with the other motor yet?

Only thing that even looked off were the cam bearings.
crap shoot there, i'm probably going to do an oil analysis assuming there is enough left in the oil filter.

In the back of my head, i remember this one time i had a crazy neighbor put sand in my fluids when i happened to take my vette in for an alignment.
:yaoface2:

the hoe has not been anywhere.
+ it's not sand.

that said, i might use some safety wire to secure my oil filter, and oil fill cap in the future.
:win:

and i'm going with cam bearings for now...

Pretty much describes my life.
lol

Plan today, get the hoe higher on the jack stands.
See if i can't get the old engine mounts off of the truck.

Then the wife needs me to fix some screens in the house...

Then run the rc car for a while.

And finally, i want to pull the crank bearings from the old block.
Install into the new block.
Mock up the crank and one rod and piston.

Since i can look up the 5.3 piston specs, I'm planning to use it to do some measuring before i order the new pistons.

Let's see how that goes. :D

And I'm on call this weekend, so I'm trapped.

So in my parts list, I'm going with the gm springs.

As for lifters, i don't see the gm ls7 lifters available.

Summit does gave them under their brand.
So i might end up going that route.

Thoughts?

I remember fred.
you must be 40 something.

Close enough!

Damn. You just made me realize 20+ years of my life have zipped by and just how long gone those good ol' days are. :(

I remember "Nookie" on Total Request Live like it was last summer. Also, Korn's "Got The Life", that one by that Canadian chick that was in the movie "Titanic" and a bunch of others.
