Is there a way to tighten the mirror glass to stop vibration?

Title says it all.

Driver side mirror has slowly gotten more shaky over the past few thousand miles. Not sure if there's anything to tighten behind the mirror, but figured I'd ask here before I go crazy with a prybar and a screwdriver

not really it's plastic and spring loaded, you might need to just replace the mirror mount and housing, you can buy a used one or just hit the junkyard and find one that is snug and swap your parts over to it.
some just get worn over time I have taken mine apart a few times and do not really see a way to make it tighter without some kind of modification, easier to just find another that's tight
IF it is just the glass part then the motor can be replaced.

hm interesting.

yeah, it's just the glass itself and not the mirror housing. it isn't terrible right now. just sometimes at night when I try to look in the mirror with people's headlights it looks a little funky.

speaking of one of my speakers quit and i need to replace it... it's driving me NUTS and every time any kind of bass hits it's just scratchy

I’ve found those “sketchy” looking audio shops are not actually that bad. Most of them are going to use better than OEM quality speakers.

Either that or when at the scrapyard, pick up a few speakers?

yeah planning to snag one at a part picking place some time. i just have the bose audio so I need to find another gmt900 with the bose, and there's not a lot of gmt900s at junkyards around me

I would love a new speaker setup but not worth it imo for this rig. she'll probably be done in 2 years or so.

I would try just a motor then, either new or junkyard, it's the one for the glass up/down/left/right
new ones are not cheap, best bet is junkyard

Another idea that MIGHT work is to ask a glass shop about using heat to remove the glass; then replacing or adding to the silicone holding the glass.

I had a glass shop replace a broken mirror glass this way, once.

on the gmt900's it clips on to the motor with 4 clips, if the glass alone is wiggling then the motor is either broken or worn out etc.
the clips slide down from the top

I would love a new speaker setup but not worth it imo for this rig. she'll probably be done in 2 years or so.

eBay has lots of used Bose speakers at reasonable prices.

I replaced mine. Inexpensive and not to much trouble to install.
