Is it me, or has this forum been getting dull lately?
It seems like the threads are just more and more repetitive and off topic.
It also seems like a large majority of the active users want the same stuff/mods. For example, there is a lot of interest/purchases of Escalade rep wheels, CK 375s, Slides, Esky tails/G5s/G4s, Esky bumper, and so on.
Just looks like this forum is not as diverse as it used to be with people of different taste and different mods from suspension, to audio/video.
I remember back in 09 when none of the members SUVs could be mixed up. Now, a lot of them are looking like replicas of each other........:hands:

yeah... some have ventured over to other sites, atleast from what I've seen.

BUT.. i also think it has to do with Serge finally settling down and sticking with one truck and one idea. When he had the HyHoe, he was all over the place generating a ton of craziness!

I think its partly due to you being a lot more knowledgeable now then before. When I first got on this site, it was like an endless amount of info but you're right, it does seem like the same mods over and over. I still like this site over others. The people here are mature, knowledgeable and helpful. Other sites its like a contest of who has the biggest sack and people are praised for flaming one another. It's nice to share ideas and what not but some people on other forums think they know it all rather than trying to be friendly and help others. One forum, its all about who has the loudest or biggest system or who spent more money. I tend to steer away from those forums.

Coming to the end of a design cycle, pretty much every mod variation has been exhausted, so invariably repetition is more common.

it's always been that way. Every forum is. I was here with my 04 Escalade and left for 8 months or so. Now I'm back, but in the 07+ section.

You guys are right. I do know a lot more than I did back in 09. The people on here are one of a kind though. Very mature and not a whole bunch of self absorbed ass holes like on GMFS.
On the contrary, GMFS has far more members and a lot more mod variation. The pics on that site can make one drool.
I don't think the dullness is because of the NNBS design has been out for a while though. Mods are mods, I don't pay much attention to what it is on as long as it is a decent vehicle.
For example, NNBS guys aside, I remember when members like Mobmentality, Blizzardx23, Max, Jkmotorsports, Chistoso, TheHoe92, NathanJax, and a few others I cannot think of, use to introduce a lot of variation in the NBS section. Now they barely get on anymore.

Yeah. It gets repetitive. There's only so many times you can tell people No HIDs in stock housings, which rims look good. How to lower a vehicle, etc.

I've actually stopped commenting on threads where my opinion would be negative, as to not increase the drama.

Let me rephrase, most people here are mature excluding Soul  However, he is very helpful. Always available to provide assistance. And has an endless supply of disposable income to mod his truck :p

I also practice this method. Or I post it indirectly.
But if you talk about my HIDs in stock housings......

I think ever since Jacob got rid of his bug deflector, everyone sorta lost interest in modding their rides.

I was gonna add the bug deflector but Jacob got rid of his and I got real depressed because he lost 650hp by removing it!

I feel like we need more builds in the build thread and need to have write-ups like how to install interior footwell led's and how to do second skin/fat mat or how to hook up your own system (amp, sub, etc) things like that but at the end of the day I would never leave this site it's incredible way better the gmfs IMO.

If I had a dog and it ever looked at me like that I would swap it out for a puppy ASAP!:mexsmoke:

This is true. More write ups and builds are needed in general.
I took a good additional 8 hours out of my weekend to take pics and type a complete step by step electrical and audio write up thread and very few people even know it exists because most don't really care.
If it was thread about CK375s it would be flooded with posts lol.
Needless to say, next time I won't take my time to do such and will just post pics.

EDIT: Basically I just think we need a write up on footwell lights especially with doing the fuse box.

I have to disagree with 09 being the year as I did not join until 10 which means this place really did not exist in 09. I would add more if I could but go to any dealer and you will see my clone...

being a new member, but someone who frequents forums, i'll throw in my .02

from what i see, its all new and awesome! since ive signed up, ive been on here every night, searching, scrounging, making wishlists, buying parts from other members, and starting in on my mods. im like a kid in the infinite denali modification emporium right now...but im sure at some point all that awesomeness will wear off, ill do every mod i think works with my truck, and when i sign in, ill think "damn...its the same posts, same mods, bla bla...." thats when it would be a good time to stir things up, dig up an old thread, organize a meet and greet bbq...anything to wake things up. it seems like such a close knit group for being a web forum, it shouldnt be that hard to reignite some creative fires and freshen up the place a little.

my point is, it is new and cool and exciting for us new guys, all we wanna do is get our rides sweet like all you og's...and yes some of our rides will look like others because imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!! there are some awesome rides in here. i for one love using nothing but factory parts and mixing and matching them to create a (almost) one of a kind ride. so stick with us noobs, you guys have a lot to teach :)
