I think ever since Jacob got rid of his bug deflector, everyone sorta lost interest in modding their rides.

This is true. More write ups and builds are needed in general.
I took a good additional 8 hours out of my weekend to take pics and type a complete step by step electrical and audio write up thread and very few people even know it exists because most don't really care.
If it was thread about CK375s it would be flooded with posts lol.
Needless to say, next time I won't take my time to do such and will just post pics.

I'm definitely interested in the audio/video write ups. Just haven't gotten to that point in my "build" yet it'll definitely be appreciated when the time comes :) I'll be looking at NathanJax's set up as well :)

Ok, now that I've read all the responses I'll throw my 2 cents into the mix and it'll most likely only be worth half that :D

I love this site and 99% of the people in it. Great group of people and very low drama level MOST of the time and I like that a lot. I agree there seems to be a lot of one another copying each other but like sparks said when you're new to the site this is a whole new world. Most people would have no idea where to start to mod there full size GM SUV to make it look cool. Part of the reason I put the ck948's on mine was because I like them but also because very few others have them on their ride but maybe someone will see them and want to duplicate it. That's cool with me  I've made some good friends on here that I hope to one day meet up with and hang. Most forums are NOT like that.

Anyway, now that I've rambled I think that once the new body styles come out and people start buying them and modding them things will get fresh again. I'm sure there will be plenty here that'll make that step :)

I've slowed down a lot for two reasons, 1) I've done pretty much everything I wanted to do to my Tahoe. As a matter of fact, all I have left I want to do is CK375's, and I don't see that happening; 2) the biggest one, I bought my '92 K1500 in my sig and it has been getting all my love and money. Unlike the Tahoe, it will always be changing and evolving, its just so much cheaper to mod and there is an infinite amount of mods out there compared to the GMT900's. I'm much more comfortable doing things on it that could turn out badly because it is not a DD.

When a model lives out its Time modding slows down since everyone on here has everything mostly Done except the neewbiez lol.... Just like obs and nbs....

Buys its okay because my ride will be different no matter what  I promise to all of tyf it won't be like anyone's singularly just a bunch of ideas that I have seen or products that I think will work on my ride :hands:... Some people see a nice ride make it EXACTLY like the one they like I believe in being original and leading your own design
But then again I'm crazy!

I kinda find it funny that somebody said it seems like most vehicles on here look the same. I've been thinking the same thing concerning this months TOTM nominations. I'm not saying they look bad, just similar. I noticed this early on when I joined the forum last year. That's what influenced me to go the direction I went with my build. I wanted my truck to be recognizable and individual while still looking good. I think I've managed to pull that off, and I'm not done. Regardless, other than the occasional post from noobs who don't bother to use the search function, there isn't really much happening here, unless you're in the lounge.

It's partly the nature of an enthusiast site for a small range of a product. But, personally, unlike on some other forums, I appreciate that people here don't crap up their rides just to be different from everyone else. My truck looks like no other truck in my tri-state area, and that's the most important thing to me. That it looks like a smaller version of Robbie's truck, or that it may have prompted some others here to get 375s, is ok with me.

Nicely said KMelony! Mine looks nothing anything in my area and I love that and means the most to me. :)

Another that contributes to the slowness is the summer months and everyone being busy doing stuff outside and traveling on vacations.

Off -topic newb question, which state is the Tri State?
For the record, I think the CK375s are a very noce looking wheel. Especially for a stock one. But for the price it runs, it would be good if people explored their options.
The Slides are also a very nice wheel.

I use the stay logged in check box. It is annoying to have to log in every time I cruise the site.
It is also very slow to navigate when not logged in.
I wonder if it shows me as being on all the time, or just when I am actively on the site? Does anyone know?

I could not agree more. I would prefer similar looking cars than cars that look like ish because someone tried to be different. If the red parts were white, it would be gold!

Off -topic newb question, which state is the Tri

I said "my tri-state area." There's no "tri-state." Here, in PA, they tend to talk about the area around Philly, which includes PA, NJ, and DE, as the tri-state area, since they all converge in a common area...

So, basically, all around where I live, and down to the NJ shore, etc., I haven't seen a truck quite like mine. Sure, my truck isn't a HUGE departure from a stock LTZ, but it's pretty different when you get down to details.

Just last week, a guy next to me in line at the drive-up teller was asking me all about my truck. He was asking if I had an "Escalade conversion" on the truck, since he recognized that the tails weren't stock... And he was asking about the brakes... And most people still don't seem to know that the CK375s are a GM wheel... I like talking about cars/trucks, and it's nice when people recognize the modifications and like them.

Here, we're just bound to see a lot of overlap.

One thing I would encourage is the discussion of the "WHY" and "HOW" behind some of the mods. For instance, I don't want to be told that I should just use brand x drop on my truck, and to set my links to y length, without knowing WHY I'm doing it. I want to know how the autoride system works so that I (and others) can diagnose issues and help others.

For example, NNBS guys aside, I remember when members like Mobmentality, Blizzardx23, Max, Jkmotorsports, Chistoso, TheHoe92, NathanJax, and a few others I cannot think of, use to introduce a lot of variation in the NBS section. Now they barely get on anymore.

I can't wait to make this kinda list! :favorites37:

I think most everyone wants / does the same mods because it is what works and looks good on this body style.

Also, as people start slow because of cost, so the cheaper or free things (ie. debadge) get done first, so a lot of the same mods end up happening.

Just like KMC slides, they are beat to death but they still look great overall.

Ok I get the tri-state thing. I try to post why I do/recommend a mod, but sometimes I get lazy.
