You can jump the relay terminals with a diode. I converted my DRLS to Amber running lights and covered my photo cell, on top of the full time fog mod. Now I have full time, full auto: Lows, Running lights (w/Amber DRLs), Projectors, and Halos (w/leds) that I wired to the running lights and blinkers, so they blink as well. I can still control my lighting: Full time, full auto with "Off", "Parking only", Parking w/ Fogs", and the 8 - Hi mod (if you count the DRLs). All in all, I love the setup. It's really effective when you're in the passing lane, or on a dark road.

BTW: I Love Your Sig!!

.

I've Been Wanting to do exactly what you did. I have an 01' Denali XL. Which route did you take to keep the DRL's on? Hardwire Diode From Parking lights to DRLs or Diode the DRLs to Low Beam through Fuse Box?

Thanks in Advance,

Ryan

if you have a 99-02 chevy you can do the high 4 for free by grounding the yellow wire on the driver side headlight.....

Sorry Newb Here but would I ground the side of the wire coming from the Headlight or Coming from the Fuse box?

Thanks

Awesome! You'll love it!

That being said: PSshhhhheeewwwww.........(thinking)..........LOL! I don't remember.

I have a post floating around here somewhere with the whole thing explained. My setup is somewhat modular, so it can (and does) change. Originally, I hard wired many of my jumps, but I have since switched to a mostly relay box based, diode jumper setup. The only thing I don't like about that, is that you kinda tear up the female terminals in the fuse box, which can lead to a power loss on the highway at night (I've had it happen). If you go the relay box route, try to find an intelligent solution to that problem. I've been working on one, but I don't have it completely figured out yet.

I have my photo cell covered up as well. That's how I got the full-time/full auto feature.

I know I'm using a diode at the box to cerate the full-time fog (with kill option) feature. You have to do this particular mod that way, because the fogs are on a 15a circuit and the hi/low circuit is 10a, and it's never a good idea to overload a circuit.

I'll have to go look at the DRLs, but I think they're hard-wired to the running lights. I'm not 100% sure about that, but I believe I did hard-wire them after I converted them to amber running lights.

What else do you want to know? Tell me what you're thinking. What do you want to do? How do you want to do it. I'll help all I can. Let's get started and make it happen.

It doesn't matter. They both go to the same place. Just ground it. Don't re-route it.

Oh, and Welcome BTW! This site is awesome!

I just read it. It looks good. Only thing I would change if I were you, is change the words "fuse" to "relay". You didn't tap into the fuses, you tapped into the relay terminals.

Glad to see you got it all squared away though! Congrats.

Depends what your end goal is. Do you still want your Low's to be on at the same time as High's or do you only want fogs on at the same time?

If you skip the low beam part and just wire your highs with the fogs you can do a 4 high that way. The only bad part about that is if you have HID fogs they will turn of and back on for a split second whenever you flash or use your brights. This is why some people do Fogs to Lows, the Lows to Highs so you don't get that flicker.

quick question....im gonna do the 4 hi on our yuk but just realized when u pull back for the "flash to pass" it leaves lows on and lets u turn highs on....if I do this so it makes them stay on using the "Forward" position of the stalk to make the highs come on, does it have any adverse affects on the flash to pass since its already designed to do this? just want to make sure if we use the flash to pass we werent going to back feed something that would fry or not...

So what does this mod keep the lows and fogs on at startuup (they both turn on) and will still work w/ highs? Or just that they'll stay on for highs?

Question:
I have a 2003 yukon with HIDs lows and highs, if i put HIDs in for my hi's and i do the 4hi mod....

I want my End Goal to be:

when headlights turn on i want highs and lows to turn and have the capability to turn on my fogs at anytime.

Question:
when i do this, will i have to turn on my highs for them to combo up with lows (have the indicator in my dash light up?) or will they automattically come on?

Try searching first. I've posted how I did this like 20 times now. If you can't find it, let me know, I'll help you out. It can be done.
