Blocking the EGR is suppose to give more power for a Turbo car. Not sure about an NA truck motor. I think the benefit is not having the hot air recirculated into the intake, so I don't know how much difference could be had. Also, on an OBDII vehicle, not having the EGR working will throw a code.

Will cleaning it remove the code thrown for EGR?
Just bought truck with EGR CEL on, havent checked actuall number thrown but I will by tomorrow. Previous owner said it was EGR???
