Here it is

P2110008.jpg

and after pulling off, this is what 120k looks like

P2110009.jpg

and a good amount of carbon build up

after cleaning with steel brush and carb cleaner

and after bolting it back on the idle was smooth as margarine...

I strongly agree to putting a new gasket in afterwards...

Well this could save me some money, I was just looking for a new one...

I found a couple on ebay, new for $98 shipped and another one for around $60...

But hey $60 or $98 is still money that I can do other things with....

I'm gonna try this, maybe this weekend when I do my rear brakes...

Thanks

just did this and it worked. mine wasn't that dirty though

Did mine today, out of boredom really! 89k miles, I used a dremel with a nylon brush mandrel and scrubbed out the inside of the housing then blasted it with brake cleaner.

Also did the IAC while I was under the hood. Started up and idled fine, but it wasn't lumpy or erratic before. I'll see how it does next trip into town....see if it feels any different.

I did mine today as well as the IAC. I used Tahojim's dremel idea and intake cleaner to get inside the body and clean it out good. That's a really good idea, it works well!

You wouldn't believe the amount of black crud that comes out.

I havn't tried this stuff out on the highway yet today, but I'm anxious!

Is it possible to block the egr? Also wouldn't it give you more power if one did? I only ask cause my friend did that to his truck and he cold feel it more in the accelaration.
