Hello,

My name is Nathan Parks and I'm an electrician by trade and car enthusiasts at heart. I currently own a 2007 Tahoe and have owned it for about 4 years now. I'm currently in the process of building her up after blowing the transmission for the 2nd time. I would like to start a build thread.

Thank you advance.

I purchased my Tahoe about 4 years ago for $15,200 with 87K miles and instantly fell in love with the body style and everything about it. I've always been a huge fan of the LS platform so after blowing my 4L60E for the 2nd time I decided to pull the motor and start building her up for more power and hopefully boost this summer. I drive it like I stole so after toasting my second transmission I decided to have the factory 4L60E built up for about 600hp for now and will upgrade to the 4L80E once I'm ready for boost. My build list is below for engine and transmission. I'll update it for suspension, exterior, and interior mods as time becomes available.

Gonna be an interesting build. I like the look of the Hoe. Looks like a PPV.

Bruh...

Mine is Graystone, too, and I'm planning on what looks to be a similar drop as yours. I'm also in the process of de-chroming it. So far I just have it de-badged and the bow ties color-matched. I've gotta know your suspension setup! Amount of drop, what parts, wheel and tire size, any issues, etc. I have some custom fabrication ideas for my suspension once dropped.

So I ran into some big engine issues about 300 miles in. Currently pulling the motor back out to go back through it. :(

I lost oil pressure and the oil looks like shit.

It is, what it is

I've also added two videos of what it sounded like once I got the idle tuned in with HP Tuners. It sounded nice before it all went to shit.

That really sux. Figure out what might've happened? Think that's bearing material on your drain plug?

I lost two Cam bearings. Fortunately, the Cam and Crank are okay.

Worst case scenario according to my machine shop is I'll have to get a new block. Since the cam bearings just fell out, chances are the holes in the block are now too big and won't hold new Cam bearings.

If this is the case, I have a iron block 6.0l that needs a crank and I'll probably just go that route. It already has after market pistons and rods and was originally built for boost with lower compression.

Def could've been worse. Do they have a guess how it could've happened? Non lubrication?
