I got this jegs one mainly because I wanted a clear bowl so I can do some investigating.

I am curious to see when I get the most accumulation. Getting on it.... Highway.... City.... Ect. The clear small bowl will make me stay on top of it.

If I get allot of accumulation I will eventually get the catch can model as well.

Ive read through the whole thread and there is definitely some great info. My 08 hybrid tahoe has the dreaded white smoke often at a cold startup as well as has been burning through a good amount of oil. I've read about the bad design of the PCV valve and cleaning that thoroughly helped but it's back to doing this again after a long road trip.

Will a catchcan essentially help relieve these issues? I've thought about getting an entirely new valve cover and think they may have a redesigned one to fix the PCV problem?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have had my catch can installed for about 3000 miles and drained it for the first time this weekend and was very surprised at what I found for 2 reasons. The amount of fluid was just over a tablespoon. I was expecting more. also it looked more like gasoline than oil but it did smell more like oil than gas. Anyone else seen results similar to mine? I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not.

Truck is a 2011 Tahoe Z71 w/ a tad under 30K. 5.3L of course.

I'm collecting more than that in a week. Mine definitely resembles used oil not gas. The first week I had it on I got a milky substance at the bottom of the bowl.

6.2 with 60k.

I'm certain driving style has allot to do with it.

Posted this already, but realized wrong thread, thought it was this one.

But, I know this is NNBS section, but where are you guys putting it w/ hydro boost? Or NBS tahoe. I cant put it at that point most of you are. (on the booster) I have it where some are putting it, by the alternator, but man does it get hot there.

1 more question, do any of you hear a sucking noise now with the hose on the drivers valve? Checked and my hose is good no leaks nor are the points on the can or valve.

just picked up a 2014 Yukon Denali 6.2, this will be my first mod. I use a CC on my '11 turbo BMW and it works. -it's a no-brainer.

Just a small update.
When it's freezing I collect this creamy mucky stuff.
When it's warm out straight oil.

Kinda glad I went with the clear bowl for now. I enjoy watching what I am not throwing into the intake.

I've had my CC laying around for about 2 weeks now. Will be installing it this weekend along with a AEM intake. What do I need to purchase for the CC to install?

slick-speed can any good?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/POLISHED-AL...l:Tahoe|Year:2007&hash=item2ec2f124b2&vxp=mtr

-sorry about the massive link above, but has anyone tried this one? Looking to install one, but if this one is just as good as the catchcan.com one (or better as I see it has a gauge to see how full it is), I can save $50. If not could someone send me in a different direction then the CC one (sorry I'm a cheapskate).

Thank you very much,
Erik

I was looking at those the other day, the only thing I don't like is the Japanese writing on the sticker lol but its not a complicated part so might work just fine.

I also have another question...this is gonna show how little I know but here it goes

...Can one of these cans just be installed "in-line"? like can I just cut the line coming from the PCV into 2 pieces and hook each loose end to either side of the can?? Seems like it'd work that way but I'm ignorant

$90 more for a $50k to $70k trucks seems to me like not a big deal and worth it if there is any kind of a need. Was just curious if anyone has done it and if the passenger side bank did collect any amount of significant oil.

Has anyone installed one that has any kind of clear gauge on it? - seems that would be the way to go instead of having to periodically unscrew the CC one to see what the level is.

Has anyone ordered the 'CLEAR' catchcan from Catchcans.com? They list one but dont show a picture of it.

I may be mistaken but, I think Clear stands for just a clearcoat on the aluminum not actually "See Through" if thats what your wondering about with the picture of the unit.

I have 2 of these on my WRX.
There crap!!!!!

If you remove the top you see there is nothing inside of them. You have to build the guts your self if you want them to do any thing.

By the time you by the stuff you need and get it all put together you might as well by the nice one from catchcans.com and save your self the frustration.

I built the guts for them only because I already had them and they fit exactly where I wanted them.

I am going go get a catch can for our Yukon soon and will probably go with the catchcans.com one.

Just found this.

It gets good reviews.
And looks to be well made.

What do you guys think?
