The guys at TheFastLaneTruck or one of their channels attempted to drive across country in a Tesla. Fail. Took too long. One guy bricked his car as it was updating the software while charging so he had to get a room at the hotel and wait for Tesla to show up and fix it. They did run into other people traveling across country in their Teslas. They all loved them but lamented over the long charge times, even at those supercharger stations. A trip that wold normally take 2 days was taking this one lady and her husband a week.

We shall see. I love engines.

At one time a man could challenge a steam engine in a digging contest.

And at one time horses could stop for ‘fuel’ anywhere and cars had to plan trips around where gas stations were.

It’s simply a matter of time as the number of charging stations is growing dramatically.

I didn't mean to imply that the cars were not reliable, that particular fellow didn't follow directions. As they do take hold in America, the landscape will surely change. As for that run across the USA, quite impressive! Google maps now shows a run from NYC to SanFran in a regular car to be a 43 hour run.

One never gets their money back with solar, soon as the panels are paid off they're dead and need replacement. And then with windmills, they only produce power for about 2-3 hours per day at most; generally speaking. Makes people feel good but still not practical.

I'd rather my electric Suburban get its power from a nuclear or coal or oil fired plant and not some windmill farm that wipes out tens of thousands of birds, needlessly, let alone hundreds of acres of former farmland reclaimed for solar panels.

The EPA and groups like the Sierra Club do yearlong studies about this making sure annual migration routes etc are not affected etc. Also the farmers usually get paid to have a windmill on their property much like property owners get paid from Verizon or TMobile to have cell towers on their property or affixed to a building. Lastly, windmills run whenever there is wind. If there is wind for 2 hours a day, then they spin. If you get a week like we are having up here in the northeast, then they are spinning for days on end. Its a pretty rare day when there isn't a breeze at all, especially at 200ft in the air.

I'm not trying to start an argument but posts like these is how misinformation gets spread.

Flustered no. Shocked that pockets of such levels of aggressive ignorance still exist? Yes. So far you’ve proven that you believe in science unless it has to do with geology and the ecology of natural systems and the introduction of poisons into them. Which begs the question...what science DO you believe?

Anyway...I grew up with a PhD in geology around so I guess I take my knowledge and common sense for granted.

The theory of young earth and vertical fossils was debunked hundreds of years ago. In fact the whole discussion of vertical fossils actually disproves young earth.

I suggest you use actual scientific sites and journals not weird pseudoscience sites like ‘creationism.con’ etc. Start with Dawson. He was a 19th century scientist/geologist and a staunch Christian. He was the first to scientifically explain such fossils. His observations remain valid and central to accepted scientific thought in this area even today. I’d also look into trees that grow in flood plains today for examples of how vertical fossilization takes place. Hint 2: Not every area of in the world experiences sedimentation at the same rate.

That’s a good start.
