Cleaning exterior rubber seals and trim pieces

Hi guys -

Some of the black rubber gaskets and seals around the windows and roof area of my Escalade are turning grayish white. I'm wondering what you recommend to restore them to black. Please let me know what you think - thanks!

I have always used just 409 and a soft towel to clean them, the oem protectant fluid is super expensive, it's basically gpl-106 pfpe oil a small 7oz bottle from germany I think cost me around $40 it's called krytox, the oem stuff is a different name but cost even more, but it is also basically gpl-106.
the same stuff I bought is now around $65.00

My roof rack..... This protectant worked perfect..... Not glossy.....
( I also use it on my tires..... not glossy,.... makes them appear new. )

Nope.... as long as you have a shiny coat of wax on the paint, .. just use a "finger-touch" along the edge, but it just wipes clean with a different clean cloth.

many things work... but all of them are only temporary. Replacing them is the only semi-permanent way to fix for a good while..But really isn't logical expense wise. I've used any and all of the above for a temp fix and have learned to live with it....

If they're turning grayish-white, then you've been using something on them that is terrible for them (I'm betting Armor-All), and they're likely already toast.

I ONLY use Lemon Pledge (yes, the furniture polish) on black trim. It does an excellent job of maintaining and protecting the trim's finish. It will not degrade the trim finish like the other crap does.
