They just did a prettt decent refresh for the 2025 MY. Reports suggest couple of tweaks, including paint colours. No reports there is any redesign happening or the ‘27s are getting the new engineers per GM Authority.

If history is any indication, 1500 Sierra/Silverado get the redesign for 2027 (already confirmed), the 2500’s get redesigned for 2028, and then the Yukon/Tahoe gets redesigned for 2029.

The 2027 model is likely to be the very last one where you'll be able to get Apple CarPlay. It could prove to be valuable, 65% of car buyers will not even CONSIDER a vehicle without Apple CarPlay. Also, the evil engine stop-start is being discontinued. If that is gone from the 2027 model, it could prove to be very popular.

I really use and rely on my Iphone thru Carplay. The base Google system in my 26 is unimpressive and not sure why GM would consider messing with Apple compatibility. Its hard to believe that there will be no work around to connect Iphones.

Placed my order for a 2026 back in April, dealer called me yesterday to notify me I’m getting kicked to 2027. Earliest build would be September.

Now I’m here also interested in what’s different for 2027.

I think recurring software defects are still standard. Engineering will be working on a fix.

Its interesting to see how Apple and GM are starting to distance themselves from each other. Once a happy partnership if you look at legacy marketing material but now not so much. Apple CarPlay wants to get into much more of the vehicle software, more then just multi media systems. If you look at some of the Korean and other imports the Apple CarPlay is taking over the Driver Information Cluster not just the multimedia screen.

GM wants to control everything so they can charge a subscription fee for added features.

It still amazes me that BMW tried charging a subscription fee for heated seats eventually having to drop it from customer backlash.

The consumer needs to take a stand at some point and show these OEMs that they cant dictate how a personal smartphone interacts with the vehicle. Unfortunately the precedent is set as GM removed it from their EV line up and I don't believe sales are suffering because of that, more that EV adoption fell off.

The purchaser of the vehicle should decide on multimedia software integrations and activations not the OEM.
