I have an 01 Denali with Bose. I want to replace the HU. Currently have kicker 2 way speakers in the doors, 4 ohm. I want to be able to either still power the sub or possibly replace. What's the best route. Will just replacing the HU make a difference? Right now I have to have the sound super loud to get much from the sub. Sounds very underpowered.

Suggestions appreciated and let's keep it as cheap as possible. Thanks!

Start with just the head unit. You'll be bale to get subwoofer control and might not sound bad.

I by-passed my Bose amp and got way better sound with my own amp. Not sure thats a cheap route but sound quality is way better.
