Best budget upgrades on a 5.3L rebuild?

NOW they are saying headers won't fit on drivers side between steering shaftt an drivers side and are hitting the firewall

What kind of headers?
New mounts?
Where they on there before?

That engine has a high lift VCM cam.
Here's the idle on a TBSS LS2 and it uses the stock converter.

Looking forward to it. Trans has been rebuilt and is ready to swap out, also.

Maybe this is a dead thread, last post is from 2021 looks like. But I am curious how this worked out and if it went well would an L96 be a good fit for a 2004 Tahoe LT? There is remarkably very little recent info about this and the tags don't seem to pull anything up.
