Best ‘beefy’ tires for mostly on-road driving

Even a broken clock is right twice a day! LOL Ok, so are you going with P-Metric or the LT version of that tire?

I would not consider them "beefy" in the looks department. Sidewall is boring and not made to grab dirt.

Yeah it’s all good, I don’t get my thrills from looking at sidewalls lol. I do a lot of highway driving so I needed to compromise. I’d love to get KO2’s but I’d drive myself into a tree after the first 3 hour highway drive.

Mine is daily driven by my wife and we’ve taken 16 hour trips in it.....not loud at all.

They're all LTX. I was asking if you're going to stick with the P-Metric or go with the more durable LT tire of which they show two kinds, one apparently newer than the other.

I run ko2’s on everything I’ve owned 4wd since they came out. Great snow and road manners as well as off-road. I even think they look great on my lowered ssv. View attachment 219236

They're constructed differently. Same tread design but different construction. Surprisingly, all three versions have a 60k mileage warranty.

I reckon you'll opt for the P-Metric for the better ride over being impervious to almost any road hazard with the LTs. The P-Metrics will take the same air pressure as your door sticker while the LTs will have to be run at 50psi all around. That of course would necessitate reprogramming the new tires and pressures into the TPMS too.

I've driven in plenty of vehicles with aggressive tires like the KO2's. I dont need to eat at a specific Chinese restaurant to know they have Chinese food. And I dont need to eat at a restaurant with a 1 star review to know its probably not very good.

I'm really not trying to hurt peoples feelings by pointing out that off road tires are less quiet than performance or all seasons.

Put them on. They sound great! (And I won’t have this truck in 2 years so...)

I want get a set of roll bars and poly bushings on our 08 Denali. The oe 275 55 20 tires have a lot of sidewall flex. It has to be that way to soak up the seams on concrete freeways in CA.

I recently chose UHP tires rated W made by Sentury. They’re engineered for performance not longevity. The side effect is less tire roll, longer tread life, a softer, quieter ride and overall the best tire I’ve ever run on a SUV. Suckers were $1h ea, out the door delivered by Discount Tire’s eBay site.

With AWD you can run tires like this rain or shine.

I mean I have a 3 month old and it’s my wife’s car (now). Zero complaints from anybody on noise and they’ve got some mileage on them.

Also ko2’s are aggressive? They’re all terrains with no large lugs and quite smooth in the middle lol.

What tires were on the rig before those?

And I’d say that compared to OEM yes, ko2’s are very aggressive.
