Any tips for removing trim?

What's the most effective way to remove body trim?? I have door trim that previous owner replaced crooked?!?! I'm thinking heat gun and maybe fishing line. Then 3m tape to replace.
Any tips, tricks, pics, etc.?? Thanks!!

If you're going to take it off, you ignite as well do them all. Looks much better IMO. As far as tips yeah a heat gun will do, but there is really no trick to taking them off. The tough part is making sure all of the 3M tape residue is off.

Red raider, thanks for info, yours looks good, real clean look. Mine is pewter color trim, same as body with chrome trim which looks decent to me is the only reason i was going to try to re-apply. If i 'booger' it up when i remove, then i will just take em all off like you suggested. Take care.

Go to Napa and get an Adhesive Removing Wheel, I think 3M makes it. Its a rubber wheel that peels off the trim tape and doesn't hurt your paint. They are about $20 at my local Napa, but 150% worth it. I use them to remove pinstripes, adhesive tape, tree sap, and so on. I did my whole Yukon including the badges, my brothers jeep, my brothers eclipse, and a few other small projects and still have 50% of the wheel remaining.

use 3m adhesive remover to get all residue off before putting it back on. stuff works amazing and is 100% safe for your paint.
