Just changed my a/c belt this weekend. Its the elestic type with no tensioner. Took me a minute but finally figured it out. I bought a gates elestic belt tool to do the job. Long story short is...it doesnt work. Put belt behind crank shaft pulley, put belt on a/c compressor pulley, start belt on top of crankshaft pully as far as it will go. Use 2 large zip ties and zip tie belt to crank shaft pulley. Make sure the zip ties are against one of the spokes on the pulley. Then with (i think it was 22mm) large socket and breaker bar rotate engine slowly until belt stretches on to crankshaft pulley. Carefully remove zip ties and thats it.
