LOL, my mpg went way up with my new 6.2. Except my tank was on empty showing something like 16 gallons used and requiring 24 gallons to fill...

Hand calc matches dic on mine. Its noticable how much slower the gas gauge is going down too. When I would go downhill before, instant gauge would only read like 35 mpg. Now it reads 50-99. Thats the biggest change. Seems like idle is using less fuel and DFCO is kicking in now.

Nice. I need to talk to my tuner. The last time he got to mess with it I had filled with regular to see if he could make it use that. No joy but he left it so I wouldn't blow the bottom end apart with what wsss in there. I expect great improvement but I want a dry day.

Tweaked 02s to be less reactive on the fuel trims

Rock solid idle, perfect drivability and now better MPG than the 5.3 by a lot. This is my normal drive to the stores, mix of some 45 mph highway and stop lights. 5.3 normally got 13 mpg.

Got rear ended yesterday. The Honda that hit me completely destroyed. Yukon barely any damage lol. Love these tanks.
You have a hitch or no? If yes, did he hit your hitch ?

Many years ago I had a full size Bronco and got hit from behind by a Toyota. No discernible damage to the Toyota but my back bumper was twisted like a Christmas ribbon. Of course the guy's information was all false.

I think I got a winner on the oil to make my cold starts sound less like my engine is completely broken.

Swapped in Castrol Magnatec synthetic. The marketing hype is basically it will cling to your parts better and give you better cold start protection. I have circulated it through about 150 miles and today it was 15 degrees out, but was the quietest cold start I have had yet. It still sounds noisy, as any engine would, but the terrible lifter clacking wasn't there. I am going to add liqui moly MOS2 additive to it to see if I can get it even quieter.

Figured I'd update...

About 2000 miles since the swap. No issues to report. No oil consumption, no leaks, no odd noises, decent fuel economy. It just sounds pretty bad in sub 40 degree temps, but whatcha gonna do. The magnetec oil definitely helped here. It used to misfire when it got cold, which it no longer does. I assume from the lifters bleeding down and taking a bit to re-engage with the pushrod properly until oil thinned out.

Sounds insane at WOT. If this snow ever goes away, I will take a video.

I bet it sounds like a BEAST!!

The Touring + Vibrant Resonator with headers is about the best combo possible for a street/family truck. Sounds very quiet 3k and under. Absolutely screams at WOT.

It droned with the 5.3. The 6.2, I guess because the additional torque down low, has no drone.
