Some pix of the rubbing. Don't think it's the boards after all.

I think the really gnarly sounding rubbing was the tire rubbing the "step" in the right front fender liner. Actually some melting or "peeling" of the liner right by the step.

What do you guys do to fix this? I've heard of using a heat gun and deforming the liner. Think that'll be enough?

In the rear, will the heat gun be enough there too? Any idea what's behind the protrusion in the liner forward of the wheel @ 10 o'clock?

Hope Tony posts his video soon. I'm sure that will give me some guidance.

Sent my deposit to Black Bear Performance for the in-person tune in Indy August 10th.

Got my tire rubbing eliminated with heat gun and some trimming. Installed the sway bar end links, too. Finally got my GMC center caps from Marcellino.

Still want it lower in front and rear. Hope to end up around 33 1/2 up front and 34 - 34 1/2 in rear. Been really busy at work with shutdown and re-tooling for the next gen pickups.

I don't understand how some folks spend so much $$$$ on their car and never bother to detail it.

Good to see you are not one of those. :)

Hmmm... I'm one of those people I guess. I take the "why bother washing it when it's just going to get dirty in 5 minutes" approach.

Awesome looking ride!

The good: Ordered the Airaid Jr. kit from BBP today.

The bad: Pulled into the garage last night and noticed the passenger side rear wheel (yes, the brand spankin' new ones) already has some minor curb rash. FML! First thought it might have been the car wash we use, but realized the car wash doesn't have guide bars on the passenger side. Asked the wife about it. "I don't think I did it, but I did get kinda close to a curb yesterday...." Appearently kinda close means up against it. Women (drivers). At least it's hardly noticable to non-OCD, ****-retentive people.

This is one of the few reasons I'm glad I'm running 20's is because I don't have to worry about curb rash. That'd be really irritating!!!!

Got the rear down a little lower with shorter AutoRide height sensor links (2.25"). Front is at 34" and the rear is at 34 1/2". Still debating going to the factory plus .62" groove in the front. Guessing I'd get about 1/2" more drop by going the additional .22" lower on the strut. Think 1" of rake would be about perfect. Having the free travel mod done on Thursday. Drove it all day today and never bottomed out, which surprised me a little given it only has a couple of inches to travel.

Also had the SLP exhaust tip installed.

Just got home from a family vacation to Dale Hollow. Truck was problem free (little worried about the 24's and bad Indiana and Kentucky roads). Averaged over 18 for the trip, even loaded to the gills with a week's worth of food for 12 people.

Airaid Jr was delivered while I was gone, but still haven't installed it yet.

Airaid Jr. got installed today. Had issues with the vaccuum line connection at the valve cover, but it was a snap other than that. '13 model year trucks had a different connection than the earlier NNBS trucks. Requires a quick disconnect tool to release the vaccuum line at the valve cover.

Next up: BlackBear Tune next weekend in Indy.

Had Justin from Black Bear Performance tune the truck yesterday while he was in Indy. Pulls harder up top, for sure.

People suck. Last weekend had this little surprise was left for me while the family was at the city swim meet. Wife even had the truck parked against an "island", so only one side was door-dingable. Looks like a big swim bag or backpack side swiped it. Local body shop is confident it'll buff out. Goes in tomorrow morning.
