A few weeks ago I posted about a discernible bump or slight quick knock on my 2013 Tahoe 105 K mi after complete rebuild of Transmission It occurs periodically sometimes while sitting idle with foot on brake, sometimes felt at start from idling stop as at a stop light sometimes in early shift range. Transmission shows no trouble codes. Inquired with a number of experienced auto shop folks I know, but no one can figure it out. I feel it has to be a transmission or converter quirk. Actually shifts and runs well . Anyone had similar annoyance issue .Still no good explanation as have driven 1000 mi since issue began after rebuild
Thanks for a tip.

From what you're describing, I think I may be having a similar issue after I recently had my transmission replaced, and all, on my 2012 PPV. Somehow, after driving in heavy rain on the highway, water mysteriously got in the transmission and, of course, the gunk screwed up everything. Anyway, if I'm stopped and in R or D, I press the gas pedal and there is a brief moment when the engine revs up. This is followed with a nudge as it moves forward or backward. This nudge is as if it was in neutral, and I rev up the engine, then suddenly shift it into R or D. My trusted mechanic told me is this is happening because the CPU needs time to adapt to the new transmission or I guess what others say 'relearn' one's driving habits. So basically, I have to treat it as if I am breaking it in like a new vehicle. But, stupid me, there was an instance on the day I got it back where I gunned the engine to pass a dumbass slow driver on a 2 lane road and then the day after I gunned it to beat a yellow light, and so the transmission started acting up with the nudging when either backing up or moving forward. I let it sit for a few days and when I drove it again, this time, I took it very very easy driving around. It's been about 2 weeks since getting it back, logging over 100 miles, and now it happens periodically. Of the times it happens is when I'm in heavy traffic and have to break suddenly which causes the transmission to downshift rapidly. Then, I get the nudge when moving from a dead stop. But then, it doesn't do it after slowly stopping. Anyhoo, I'm just gonna keep driving it very easy and hope this nudging will finally go away to the point where I can drive it normally and not worry about the nudging. Will see.

Check motor mounts and transmission mount (if it wasn't replaced with the trans)
Also if AWD/4wd could be the front differential mounts. They kinda "bump" when bad

Thanks for reply. i have not noticed the rev up in mine but the periodic bump for sure. The guy that built mine was a tenured GM transmission guy now with his own shop. Should have been bullit proof. Gave me a 3 yr warranty ( if that means anything. its shifting correctly so hate to tear into it again. all this is super technical these days. I hope your guy is correct. sounds reasonable. The 5.3 in that 2013 truck still great...uses almost no oil between 5 k dexos changes.

No problem. You're welcome. Good you've got some kind of warranty from your guy. Still driving mine very easily and get the nudge/bump periodically. Hoping as well, it will gradually go away. My mechanic said I will need to bring it back to him for another flush just to be sure to clear any remaining gunk that he could not get rid of when he serviced it. But, that won't be for a little while. Prolly next year around this time.
