The end of June I ended up picking up a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria P71 SAP and sold the 05 I had. The 08 had 112,421 and 820 idle hours it was an old CSP administration car and being it was a CSP car it came with the fire suppression setup, overall it is pretty clean and they left behind a lot of hidden goodies. I’ll update this over the next few days, first thing I did was swap the wheels and other odds and ends from the 05.

The Vic didn’t have many issues it needed a radio knob (pick and pull find) the turn signal wouldn’t turn off (replaced the multifunction switch) and the shift indicator needle wouldn’t go past neutral but the car would still go into drive I had to memorize how many clicks it was lol. So I picked up a new shift indicator and pulled it apart and found it was broken replaced it and it was good as new.

The headlight switch didn’t illuminate so I picked up a new bulb it’s not an exact match it’s off an earlier Crown Vic but it fits and lights up Ford only sells the whole switch and not just the bulb so this new bulb is the only option, down the road I’d like to install a LED bulb in the old one.

These cars came from the factory with TPMS sensors in the wheels and when I swapped mine off the 05 I didn’t have the sensors cause 05 didn’t have that I wanna say it started in 06 so I downloaded FORScan which allows you to turn off the TPMS light, dark mode, and set up keyless entry and you can read codes with it too.FF19CDC3-1D1D-4C3F-BC75-964A6F418AB0.jpeg0513C2F3-B50A-47C0-9BA0-7A97B62A9750.jpeg

Here’s a few things I found in the car I found this pen it was for some crime scene clean up company and a service tag for the keys, there’s the tag from the auction with the old plate number and the key still had the tag for the key box at the barracks it looks like it came from Troop B in 2020 it was stationed up in Hartford which is Troop H and before that it was down in Westbrook at Troop F.

Your SAP looks to be in excellent condition. Nice find! Always heard [from coworkers who lived in Connecticut] the CSP take good care of their vehicles.

Do you plan on tinting the windshield on this one and adding a Push Bumper. The Fire Suppression is good thing to have. As I recall the FHP put them in all their P71'S.

Your a one man army Brett!

Thanks, they definitely keep them in good shape, along with the fire suppression they got the carpet flooring and traction control and adjustable pedals this one just has traction control I think the take home cars got the pedals, and I might do a pushbar and you’ll see about the tint when I get caught up on this.
