New member, joined today. Long time GM family with a suburban, GMC Denali, and now a Cadillac 600. Wife gets the new cars, and I get the hand-me-downs! We keep cars for about 10+ years or until they start to break-down and the wife says "that's it". I think this is fair. My driver is the 2013 GMC Yukon XL Denali 6.2L with currently 191K miles and stock configuration. Overall good condition except it is rusting on rear quarter panels on both sides at the trim strip. Frustrating as the car was garaged and well maintained.

I consider myself a "Bolt On" mechanic, and I dabbled with 1960s cars when I was a teenager/young adult, and had a lot of fun, when 1 horsepower per cubic inch was consider pretty good! Most complete build was a 350 small block with fulie heads, lumpy cam and mated to a powerglide. Wasn't super quick off the blocks, but that car never stopped accelerating! Care free and fun back in the 80s.

Now I want to keep the Denali running for a few more years but having a few mechanical challenges right now. I have been hanging out at the Facebook GMC Yukon forum with mixed results and found this forum. I am looking forward to learning, picking your brain, and if I can, will contribute back where possible.

Welcome from the suburbs of Denver!

I have two brothers in and around the Windy City, as well as a sister in Peoria. I worked in the South Suburbs out of Chicago Heights until I moved here years ago. (No, as badly managed as this State is, I'd never consider moving back to the Midwest. LOL)
