5.3L SLT The cruise control on the turn signal lever failed a couple of months back and I just got around to replacing the “Cruise Control, Turn Signal, Headlight Dimmer, Windshield Wiper, and Hazard Switch Lever Assembly”. Everything but the CC works fine. It was a tough job for me as I have a peripheral nerve weakness desease similar to MS and I was so happy to get this sucker finished. In my youth I rebuilt engines, but I’m 75 now and cars are much more complicated.

I went with the OEM AC Delco part too, expensive but more reliable usually. I also replaced the fuse though it looked good. The brake lights also work which can somehow mess with the CC.

Any other ideas?

FWIW You might fix the displacement value in your thread title.

Likely the internal contacts in the brake pedal switch have gone bad. That pedal switch has three internal sets of contacts, one of which is for the CC, IIRC.

Also see this site and select your correct vehicle using the links at the top of your browser window:

Not much more I can add other than to agree with everything stated above. Check that pedal or have someone else do so and see if that does the trick. Hopefully this will get you fixed back up.
Keep us posted as to your findings.
