1995 Tahoe LS 2dr - No passenger courtesy light

The passenger courtesy light on my 1995 Tahoe LS 2dr is not working. The switch is good (driver's door, dome, glovebox lights come on). I just can't get the passenger door courtesy light to come on. Any thoughts?

What would I be checking for? The button seems to work. The driver's side courtesy light comes on no problem. Everything comes on (that is supposed to) except the passenger side courtesy light.

Does anyone know where these wires terminate (the source)?

You’re referring to the one under the dash, right?

It’s parallel with the one on the left (above the parking brake) so if one works they both should.

Mine on the left flickers sometimes, making me think that it’s an issue with the bulb socket itself. I haven’t looked into it, but believe the terminals in the connector have probably gotten spread apart.

With the door open, pull the bulb and put a mulitmeter across the terminals in the socket. You should get 12V or so. If you do, then it has to be the terminals or the bulb.

I'm referring to the light in the bottom half of the door. My glove box and footwell lights work fine. Thanks for posting the schematic. I'm not sure what the IP Courtesy Lamp is. Regardless, it looks like everything is wired back to the fuse box. I can't get 12v across the circuit or to ground at all for this light. I'm going to go back farther through the dash. Unfortunately, the wire disappears into a harness before it even leaves the door.

I couldn’t find a diagram for a two-door, but it looks like it should have an orange and white to the connector at the bulb. Connector C215 is accessible, pull the pillar trim (under the blower) and the connectors are tucked in there. Best guess…check for continuity across the orange and white on the door side of C215 with a known good bulb installed. If it’s bad, then you know that the issue is between that connector and the bulb.

Also check for voltage on the chassis side of the connector.

It looks (for a 4-door at least) that if one works, they all would.

If your door hinge pins were recently done (and the door removed), it could be that the connector wasn’t reconnected.

Pillar trim under the blower? Is this the side kick panel?

That’s the one. The wires and connectors that run into the door are tucked into a hole behind that.

Popping off the rubber bellows/hose (that goes to the door) may help get to them as well.
