Hello,

Last year we bought a 2011 decommissioned police tahoe. This thing has a laundry list of electrical gremlins. One of the most annoying is that while you are driving, and hit a bump the interior lights will come on...the locks will cycle...and on the dash it reads "passenger door open". Now clearly it is not open, but does this sound like just a bad door switch? It happens more frequently when the driver's side window is down....if that makes any sense.

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Lots of knowledgeable folks here who freely share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Knowledge is power.

I hope that you will become a participating member in the Forum's discussions.

Pics of the truck, please.

I would start by replacing the switch on the passenger side. The driver side window being open may just create enough internal air pressure to slightly move the passenger door when going over a bump, and that slight movement may trigger the switch.

Most likely door latch. (Since odor open message and dome light)
Another possibility is the wiring insulation is broken and grounding out inside the door. .

Thank you for the welcome. I was thinking about trying to clean them and spray them with silicon lube first. Would that be worth my time?

You could try, but if it were me, I'd simply replace.

I'm having soooo many electrical issues that I don't know where to begin. Getting it to crank on a regular basis that would be a great start.
