They use a lot of Braille parking in our city, pull forward till you hit the car in front, back up till you hit the one behind you. Some areas of the city, everybody's bumpers are missing half the paint.
Oh you meant like that lol. Yea you forget I lived next door to you in WA. I always found parking garages for my rides. I never parked on the street for that reason. And worse of all its accepted there, like I would snap on someone using my ride for braille parking lol

Yep I never park on the street in those areas. I could never live in one of those neighborhoods where you have to park blocks from your home and come back to find your ride all dinged up. They keep putting in apartment complexes with zero parking. Suckers.

Your posting so much I can’t keep up lol, applique’s look good cm’d, denali bumper looks good, might as well just scuff up the shit out of that damn front chrome bumper and self etching, adhesion promoter and cm that *****.
Yea I'm on a roll with paint lately. So ittl be very soon. Plastidip phase is over. I'm thinking at least the hd grille bar colormatched. Try and search for matching vinyl for the chrome bumper. I really don't wanna try and paint it, im 0-1 for painting chrome

Picked out the color. Who knew there were 6 variances of indigo blue.

Professionally mixed paint and clear. Was gonna use a single stage (base+clear in 1 can) but I knew it wouldn't be as nice as the rest of the paint since I did the paint correction a few months back. First time using the infamous 2k clear and let me tell you this stuff is amazing.

Handy dandy tack cloth, never paint without it.

Scuffed with red scotch bright and shot the base. 1st light coat then 2 heavy coats.

Base finished. Thought at first they forgot the metallic flake.

Next was clear. 2 coats. Then I saw the metallic flake and was mesmerized. First time laying down a metallic paint job.

Slight orange peel but still lays down pretty damn good for a rattle can. You can leave as is and it'll match most factory paint jobs or you can wet sand with 2000 then polish for a mirror finish. I left the bumper as is and wet sanded the appliques because they're eye level.
Major win and redemption from when I first tried to paint these:elephant:

Ive thought about it. I'm trying to get rid of chrome. Although they would look killer against this blue I just prefer colormatch on mine.

thanks broski:ehcapt:
Cm the surround of the HD grille, leave the bar chrome, with the wheels and esky rack and the handles which also would have a cm’d surround and chrome pulls, jackpot winner winner. Just subtle touches of chrome. I remember seeing NBS chrome tow hooks too in LMC catalog, I was going to get them.

And all your paint looks great, and I’m def not an expert, but I have heard its better to spray rattle can vertically instead of horizontally, don’t know if it makes a difference.

Installation is straight forward. I sprayed some lubricant in side holes by the for the plastics clips to slide in and out easier. They like to get caught and break off sometimes, not all the times but sometimes.

A messy garage is a used garage, not for storing cars but for working on them. & my nbs appliqués were a ***** to get off, my nnbs ones came right off.

Before bumper cover install I modded the plate light housings for a brighter output and it seemed to work pretty good.
Took apart the black cover from the clear housing. Cleaned up the clear lenses.

You can install them back in without the black cover and they fit snugly but they obviously have no light direction and I would think be illegal. But since I have a bumper cover going over the housings it's fine for me

Your paint skills are damn good! I wish mine were that good! Haha. I need to redo a few little things on mine and I’m dragging my feet on them because I hate painting haha.
Thanks, I've had years of practice with both cans and guns. Like riding a bike, once you learn you never forget, just keep practicing and it'll become easier and easier. Painting is like meditation to me, so soothing for my soul,.... I just hate sanding....but everyone does lol

Although what you explained pictured in my head would look super clean, I hate chrome as much as @Rocket Man does. It may take me some time but I'll eventually rid my vehicle of chrome in the end. Just remember I'm decladding these wheels.

And I don't know about horizontal or vertical , I just spray side to side like you would a gun lol

Back to the plate lights.
So I cut the black cover to let more light out. But kept a lower part so it can still clip in and have a border with no gaps for when and if anyone takes a closer look at the lights , doubtful as they're pretty tucked away under the bumper cover....but I'll still know lol.

Then I went to the bumper cover. This is what's gonna make the light brighter. On the back side I stuck on some aluminum tape to reflect the light

And it's hard to tell but I swear they're brighter lol
