Cluster looks good man. Looks fully functional. So did you do the upgrade yourself, pay to have it done, or buy it like that?
Paid a guy to program my mileage and picked the colors, etc.. (he did the led conversion -I did the rest in the controls of the truck) ..really just wanted the trans temp, but you know.. while you’re in there..

Oh you had the trans temp added too? I was trying to guess what the cluster was from with it already there. So trans temp added, led upgrade, milage "correction", and that's it right? How much was it?

Questions:

What's more important if you could just have one:
1) having the needles change to any color with a phone app like I have this set-up now
2) electronic sensor engineered in to read needle position and trigger the LEDs to actually change color at a set point (1 time choice of position and color and then it's set, not app adjustable)

If I make this into a kit, or do it as a cluster upgrade service, how many of you would be interested?

Also, I'm trying to visualize a $ amount for this if I do sell em...
My vote is for #2, especially if you sell all the parts needed as a DIY kit.

Actually, it was from a 2500 IIRC. Had the trans temp, he just refurbished it, and changed the LEDs to what I wanted. Bought from a guy on eBay it was around $250. Plug ‘n play.

Well... If I could find and get some of the clear plastic assemblies the overlay sits/sticks onto then I could premake a bunch for kits. The led assemblies fit into that piece and it's somewhat delicate work. Otherwise you would have to send yours (wouldn't have to send the whole cluster unless you didn't wanna mess with it) to me to modify and send back with the kit for you to complete the install at home. Anyone know where I could get just those pieces for cheap? Pick a Part is my best guess but that's searching yards and then buying the whole cluster

Honestly tho, if you wait a little bit longer and see the rest of what I've done, you might wanna send me your cluster to modify anyway besides doing the LED needles. This s*** is sick!

I also recently found these beautiful pieces of artwork that I wanna try with the glow needles. It's gonna be eye candy! I think these are made for the newer stepper motors '03+up, but I'll make em work. They're like 4mm shorter on overall length. Not sure about the stem length yet. Hole is same size tho

So I'm gonna sell it as a kit for those of you savvy enough to open the cluster up completely to do the install. Now, this will include removing the overlay since the piece it sits on will be replaced with the new one with preinstalled LEDs for the needles. I'll have some pics of that piece as soon as it's completed. Touch up. Also, there will be a pigtail from the LEDs to plug into the inline controller for them. The only option for this set-up uses 5v LEDs (I wanted 12v but nobody makes them like I need for this). So there will also be an inline 12v to 5v convertor that feeds the controller, but they will be prewired together with 2 pigtails- 1 is the 5v to feed the LEDs, and the other is for the 12v to feed this assembly. This will be of your choosing in your truck of where you get the 12v supply power. 12v constant, accessories, whatever your flavor. Constant they can stay ON even without key and still be controlled for ON/OFF. I'm trying to streamline this whole thing to make the install as uncomplicated as possible. Like, here, just add water!

I also think I will sell this as a service option. That way I can do the complete install and have both the controller and 12v/5v adapter inside the cluster and prewired to either the constant or accessories pins on the board itself. That will make it truly plug-n-play! Plug new cluster in, connect with app, and start the visual feast! Send me your cluster, and I send it back with magic inside! And if any of you are wondering, not only are these RGB LEDs (can be any color), the coolest part is there addressable! Assignable. It means you can set each and every LED to whatever you want independantly from the next. 1 red, 1 blue, etc. AND there's 3 LEDs per needle! The controller will come with presets built in for some really awesome effects all chosen from an app on your phone! Android and iPhone both.
