No I did not end up using the glossifier. It's kinda got a satin finish to it though.

I think that it looks awesome. You have inspired me to dip my chrome.

Weather permitting I'm going to do my grill and bumpers this weekend. Hate all the chrome, all white to me looks cleaner. I like how your truck turned out. Last pic with the lights makes it look sorta like a trailblazer. Lol

Looks at least 10x better than the chrome! Seriously, the grille is much much nicer blacked out. As for the lights, I think they look good, but I woulda sprayed glossifier over them, or used Smoke dip instead of black, so the side-marker can still shine through.

I'll be dipping my entire Tahoe the first weekend in May. Gonna run me about $300 total. Not bad at all. Getting the gallons from dyc and using a spray gun. A buddy who's dipped about a dozen or so vehicles professionally is doing it for me as a graduation gift.

i dipped my wheels on my esky white in jan of 2012. i peeled them yesterday and re dipped them black. i drive in sand and saltwater a ton and the dip still looked good and the wheels looked like they did when i dipped them. only reason i peeled them is i was ready for a different look. word of advise; when you dip thin its a royal pain in the ass to peel. so where i went thin and it was hard to peel i put a couple coats on and let it dry. went back and it peeled right off.

Make sure you buy enough dip. I used 6 gallons when I dipped my truck from black to white and I didn't do the roof. With that said, white doesn't cover as well as other colors, so it might be a little less depending on what color you're going with. I'll be dipping mine again in the next couple of months. Still can't decide on what color tho. Here's a pic if mine, it was dipped for about a year

I'll be dipping mine from white to black and just doing a matte finish. I'm not having to do bumpers because I have tube bumpers so I figured that would save me some dip. I talked to the guys at dyc and they said 5 gallons should cover the entirety of my 02 pretty thoroughly.

Yea I can see 5 gallons would work. You'll probably get full Coverage on the 3rd gallon if your doing matte black. 4th and 5th gal will just add thickness so it's easy to peel down the road. Like I said going from black to white suck lol! Make sure to tape your Window sills really good, that's the only problem area I had. I tried testing just peeling the seals but there's not enough separation from the body of the truck. So just tape them off the best you can, also tape off all lights and windows, that'll save quite a bit of product as well.

For sure! I'm gonna remove some things like the roof rack, lights, and fender flares.

You think putting the flares back on with 3m adhesive will hold up?

Yea just make sure you buy the heavy duty 3M tape and make sure it's the thin style. Why are you removing the flares? You shouldn't have to remove your flares unless you want to keep them oem color even then you could just peel them after the fact

Do you have the factory flares? What do you drive? There should be enough gap between them and the body for you to peel it without issue. If your worried about it grab a can from home depot and test a small section
