I still like the older body style and the way they are set up. My burgandy one pictured was sold last year at 135,000 miles and I should have kept it. They are great trucks.

I replaced it with the 08 Denali because my wife liked the ride better in the 08. She is correct and it does steer better but the 03 was pretty unique and I wish I had kept it.

Like yours I had gone through it from end to end keeping everything working as it should. Nice work keeping a nice rig running!

I really feel, at 73 years old, that the Z71 will out live me.

This is one generation of GM truck I have yet to have owned. My brother had one and I loved it. It rode and steered so nice and ran beautiful. Was easy to get in and out of too compared to the 900.

Our 03 and the newer 08 are third cars in the family so they only go about 4K per year these days, mostly hauling and towing work or snow / water ski trips. Handy to have an extra around.

BTW @OR VietVet you got 3" on me I am currently 6'1" 292 LB.
6'2" in high school and then 6'4" by graduation. Nowadays I hang around at 290 lbs. but have been as high as 365 lbs. I want to get down to 275 because I felt best then.

I posted a 2006 Tahoe Z71 for sale in Stayton, Oregon recently but the guy wanted too much for me. He sold it for $18k and had 81K miles and looked like a twin of mine.

I went to Chevrolet Forum and did the VIN Decoder and my MSRP was exactly $100 more than his and was $38, 815.

I wanted it, but at $15k.

After my tuner tuned it. Tried rock auto and all else but OE on cam. I have a 2 crank intermittent issue.
Was told to go oem on cam to correct. Haven't done it yet cause I'm burnt out on scratching my arms up changing it.lol

Do you have any timing chain slop?

I don't quite understand this statement, "I have a 2 crank intermittent issue."

U would get in and start it, the auto key start, and sometimes it will hit but if not on the first it will on the second. No chain slope. It's a brand new l59 with stage 3 upgrades. All new. Tuner told me to change the sensor to rock auto and I did and it's still there. Actually put in rock auto and it wouldn't start. Put in autzones and it's back running. I've read that the oem sensor is the way to go.

Did it and still no change. Don't want to but I guess imma have to buy oem cam and crank sensors. Also heard that the eom spec tolerance is tighter that aftermarket.
